Trust me that I am the immersion super-freak. When a movie mixed in atmos for a cinema is released in 5.1 at home, using DTS NEURAL X many times you can recreate or outbest the atmos track. Case in point First Man is reference grade immersion despite not being atmos in Hdr.
This weekend I have an open house immersion extravaganza.
The playlist does not give a crap if the movie is atmos or legacy, the demo was sampled by one of neuralX biggest admires the WW Director of Dolby Cinema, so please tell people to judge with their ears using neural-x.
The playlist for those with Kaleidescape Strato is Format Inconsequential here in my lab that has been optimized for binaural compensation of atmos and neural-x. The same director gave the demo an 11. When the content was not native atmos he would taake the remote and cycle through the 3 upmixers, he always left it on in neural-x, in the coming years Dolby will come up with a Next Generation Consumer upmixer with width channels, their goal is to outdo Neural-X. Ain't competition grand.
