  • Panasonic ships first 'e-shift' DLP projector

Panasonic has started shipping its LASER Phosphor 4K+ 10K Lumens projector the PT-RQ13. This DLP projector, with its Quad Pixel Drive 4 position pixel shifting technology was first shown at the ISE show in Amsterdam in February. In this approach to 4K it is a pre-cursor to TI's new single DMD 4K shifting platform for medium high market, shown privately last October during the Dallas CEDIA tradeshow.

Available this month, our brand-new PT-RQ13K is the world’s lightest and most compact 3-Chip DLP laser projector featuring beyond 4K resolution, Panasonic announced.

Equipped with quad pixel drive technology, the optical axis of this remarkable machine is shifted both horizontally and vertically at a high frame rate of 240 Hz to effectively quadruple the pixel density of the image. Coupled with 10,000 lumens of brightness and a new generation detail clarity processor, images are fluid, detailed and of beautifully high contrast. The PT-RQ13K offers a truly ground-breaking visual experience, taking image quality to a whole new level. Designed to appeal rental and staging professionals, the PT-RQ13K is capable of 360 degree orientation and is compatible with our existing 3-Chip lenses.<\q>

    Quad Pixel Drive explained:

Panasonic uses three 0.9" WQXGA DMDs unlike TI's single 0.7" DMD consumer platform. Panasonic found the same solution for a smaller formfactor High-Brightness DLP projector, as it explains in this pdf. Full manual

For the upcoming ISE, 9-12 February 2016, Amsterdam RAI, the Netherlands Panasonic says it will demonstrate its leading position in laser projection and preview a complete range of lamp-free technology from 5000 lumens to ultra-high brightness, designed for the most unforgettable events.

For professional displays, Panasonic will use ISE to introduce its new system on chip solution, the Openport platform. Based on standard Android architecture, it enables any third party software, especially Content Management Systems to be installed without any specific development.

We will also exhibit our end-to-end line up of displays and projectors along with professional video cameras and AV software products.
