    Germany's second national public broadcaster ZDF is airing its first 4K production the documentary 'Terra X: Mythos Wolfskind - Mogli und die wilden Kinder', on Eutelsat's HOTBIRD 4k1 demochannel especially for the IFA (Berlin 2-7 September and IBC Amsterdam September 9-13) tradeshows. ZDF first 4K production was completely produced in house and explores the possibility of children growing up outside society, or the Wolfchild phenomen.



    The documentary will be aired in its entirety from tommorrow morning 10 AM Central European Daylightsaving Time, with repeats through out the day, and mixed with the channels regular shortform 4K demo content in the days following. The official premiere in HD on ZDF will follow on September the 25th at 19.30. The channel is being aired unencrypted on Eutelsat's HOTBIRD sattelite at 13° East; Frequency: 10 727 MHz, Polarisation: Horizontal, Symbolrate: 30 000, DVB-S2, 8PSK, FEC 3/4. Full schedule during IFA.

    Commercial channel group RTL's RTL NITRO channel will be testing 4K simulcasting in October and November with three episodes of its car show "NITRO Autoquartett". The 4K version will be tested on Satellite Operator SES subsidiary HD+'s UHD1 4K demo channel. The show will air three episoded in 4K on October 21st at 21.15 CET, followed by the November 4th and 18th episodes, at the same time the epsiodes will air in SD and HD on the regular RTL NITRO channel.

    In the show 4 celebrities take on four challenges in regular cars, they each start with four motor vehicles, in a set-up resembling the quqrtet cardgame. Bildmaterial finden Sie unter: https://kommunikation.rtlnitro.de/

    UHD1 by ASTRA / HD+ is available on ASTRA's 19.2 degreas East position Transponder: 1.035, Frequency:  10.994 MHz (Horizontal), Symbolrate: 22.000 Ms/s, FEC: 5/6 Video: 2160 50p, HEVC Main 10 Bitrate: 25 Mbit/s. The channel does require a CAM module for a 4K TV with CI+ slot and HEVC decoder, or HD+ 4K receiver, available from Technisat, and Humax amongst others. These two however come with a free one year HD+ smartcard, in Germany.
