  • Movie theater experience disappointing.

Went to see a movie this evening, I wont name the chain but they use Sony projectors, not the newer SRX515.
Tickets were $10 each for 2D movie. Medium popcorn and a drink another $18. An expensive night out if you have a large family.
Picture quality was terrible, raised black level very low contrast no snap to the image, very disappointing. I dont mean to slam Sony Ive seen the same projector throw a decent image in other cinemas could be the projector was in need of proper calibration. Sound was very thin lacking low end I could not detect any subwoofer. The tiny sound made dialog hard to understand at times very fatiguing. The emergency door & exit sign literally intersected the bottom left of the screen illuminating that corner with a red glow throughout the movie.
I did forget my bullet proof vest
Negatives aside I loved the large screen, there is something magical about a big screen that is not easy to emulate in a smaller screening room.
Look forward to hearing from others.
Working...
