  • 34% of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, worldwide gross revenue from 3D performances

    According to 3D projection vendor RealD, Inc. says that Lucasfilm's Star Wars: The Last Jedi earned an impressive 34% of its worldwide gross from 3D performances of the film. $153 million of the total estimated nearly $450 million worldwide box office gross came from 3D ticket sales and an estimated $76 million was collected from RealD equipped locations. This does not include the China market which exhibits almost entirely in 3D. Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres in China on January 5, 2018.

    In the United States, approximately 30% of the film's opening ticket sales came from 3D performances. "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" opened in U.S. theaters on December 15, 2017.

    The film stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern and Benicio Del Toro.             

    "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" is written and directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman. J.J. Abrams, Tom Karnowski and Jason McGatlin are the executive producers.
