  • Optoma launches ZH420UST 1080p UST blending, warping, Red+Blue laser projector

Optoma has just launched its new high brightness laser ultra short throw projector, the 4000 lumens, 1080P, ZH420UST. It adds Red and Blue Laser Phosphore array illumination over Blue Laser-phosphor illumination. As well as edge blending and warping.

James Fursse, Product Manager at Optoma Europe, commented: “The ZH420UST is the first Full HD 1080p ultra short throw projector with built-in edge blending and warping adjustments, combining flexibility, reliability and incredible performance. Its vast capabilities for professional installations make this model the perfect solution for museums, zoos, sports stadiums and even nightclubs”.

Though Optoma lists the announcement on its 'Consumers' section of its website. The Parent of Optoma and ODM provider Coretronic showed an 4K version with P3 filtering at ISE 2016, specifically for living room TV replacement application. The ZH420UST features 114% Rec709 colour gamut coverage.

Four corner geometric adjustment is included to allow for quick and accurate installation, ideal for uneven walls or where a projector placement is awkward and needs to be installed at an angle. The Laser-Phoshpr projector offers flexible orientation, images can be projected downwards and sideways in ‘portrait mode’. This means the projector can be operated on its side, to produce a tall, thin image. The versatility of the projector makes it perfect for digital signage applications. For large-scale projection, the ZH420UST features built-in edge-blending and warping.
