  • Da-Lite to unveil 16K-Ready Ambient Light Rejecting (ALR) Surfaces At InfoComm

projection screen maker Da-Lite says it will unveil new 16K-Ready Ambient Light Rejecting (ALR) Surfaces at InfoComm. By rejecting unwanted Ambient Light ALR screens provide a brighter image in high ambient light environments as the wash-out from non-projected light is reduced.

The latest additions to the Da-Lite ALR lineup include electric screen options as well as additional surfaces that can accommodate boderless screens as well as large venue options.

The ALR surface can now be added to a variety of screens. For insatnce the HD Progressive 1.1 Contrast, this is a vinyl surface that blocks 20% of light while expanding the types and sizes of screens that can now feature an ALR surface. HD Progressive 1.1 Contrast can be used in borderless applications as well as electric options including Wireline, which is a large venue electric screen that eliminates black drop with up to 29 feet of cable.

According to the manufacturer the new ALR screen (surface) features a wide viewing half angle of 60° and is glare and speckle free.

“Adding HD Progressive 1.1 Contrast with options for larger ALR screens and future proofing rooms with 16K-ready surfaces is just the next phase of building out options for our customers,” said Melissa Rone, Senior Product Marketing Manager. “We are excited to show off these new ALR options at InfoComm this year in Las Vegas.”
