    At a press conference in Korea announcing the 2019 LG Television line-up the manufacturer confirmed it will deliver on the new technologies shown at CES in January, 8K OLED, and the Roll-up OLED TVs.

    Kwon Bong-seok, President at LG Electronics mobile communications and home entertainment told the press conference: "We will release the rollable TV in selected markets, including Korea, the U.S. and Europe, while looking for opportunities in other countries". Home market Korea will see the initial deliveries in the second half of the year followed by the other markets mentioned.

    Kwon added that we will see "a variety of 8K TVs with 8K playback capability in the second half of the year", this referes to HDMI 2.1 input, replacing the current 2.0 inputs. The additional bandwidth should allow for 4K at 120 FPS, and 8K at 60 Frames-Per-Second.

    LG added it will release the high-end OLED TVs in the United States and Korea first starting this month and in key markets of Asia, Europe and South America soon thereafter. LG US announced the 2019 TV line up. Both OLED and NanoCell LCD TVs, excluding the 65" Rollable TV and the 88" 8K OLED. That have no communicated shipping date

    LG said it will increase its focus on OLED TVs, which will make up 20 percent of the company's high-end TVs. And expects to extend its leadership in the premium TV segment, as the demand for OLED TVs is expected to grow to 3.6 million units this year, 7 million units in 2020 and 10 million in 2021

    LG’s 2019 home entertainment lineup is led by its industry leading OLED TVs in a variety of screen sizes: W9 (model 77/65W9), E9 (model 65/55E9), C9 (model 77/65/55C9) and B9 (model 65/55B9).

    The world’s first 8K OLED TV (model 88Z9) expands LG’s premium TV portfolio. And according to LG Korea should become availabe in the second half of this year.

    The NanoCell, Full Array Local Dimming backlight equiped LCD TVs, according to LG "will deliver stellar picture quality, vibrant images, accurate colors and wider viewing angles all in a sleek package with ultra-thin bezels and in more large-screen options this year than ever before". The model line-up from 49" to 86" consists of Models 75SM99, 65/55SM95, 86/75/65/55SM90, 75/65/55/49SM85 and 65/55/49SM80.

    Select 2019 OLED and NanoCell models support HDMI 2.1 for the viewing of 4K content at a fast 120 frames per second as well as offering 4K high frame rate (4K HFR), automatic low latency mode (ALLM), variable refresh rate (VRR) and enhanced audio return channel (eARC).
