ATEN has announced it will unveil at ISE the VM6404H, claimed to be the AV industry’s first 4K seamless matrix switch.
Kevin Chen, president of ATEN International, explained: “4K provides the viewer with crystal-clear images and greater depth – it’s perfect for producing stunning videowall displays.
“To create 4K images, the monitor and source have to be compatible and both have to support HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2. The VM6404H is the only 4K matrix switch in the industry that provides true seamless video switching.”
The device features video switching and playback of 4K content in real time with no latency.
The VM6404H routes any four HDMI video source to any four HDMI displays, and provides a quick view of all port connections via its front panel LCD. The switching function uses an FPGA matrix architecture with powerful computing capability to process the 4K resolutions, and ensures continuous video streaming, real-time control and stable signal transmissions.
It also features a built-in scaler function to unify different video source formats and render the best output resolutions on designated displays. The switch integrates videowall functionality with an online GUI that enables you to create eight connection profiles that can be customised into different videowall layouts.
The VM6404H targets use for applications requiring multiple HDMI displays, in various locations, with multiple HDMI sources; for example, on-stage presentations, competitions, events, and control centres.
