5G seems to be conquering stadiums and sports venues across the world, both for contribution in the stadium for live broadcasting and streaming, as for distribution to audiences in the venue. Orange demoed this during the French Open Tennis championships at Roland Garros. And now Chinese Telecoms vendor ZTE announced it has set-up an 5G contribution and distribution system for the 2nd National Youth Games of China that is hosted in Taiyuan, Shanxi, China, running August 8–18.

While the IPTV subscribers of the Shanxi Branch of China Mobile can also access the real-time multi-angle UHD live games on the Chinese mobile operator's IPTV platform, watching the high-definition game from four different viewing angles, thereby providing subscribers with a customized game watching experience. As it is providing the audience with three distinctive 5G scenarios, including multi-angle views, flexible zooming, and free viewpoint, designed to meet the audience's personalized needs for game watching.

ZTE's 5G Live TV solutions reduce the live end-to-end latency to less than 1 second, so that the off-site audience can experience the games in real time.
