LG Display Solutions has just introduced its first "LG LED Cinema". Saying it offers 'DCi certified performancy'. It comes in a 3.3mm pitch so it is approximately 14 meter wide, like the larger 4K Samsung Onyx cinema LED.
The Key Features are Pixel Pitch: 3.3 mm, Screen Ratio: 4,096 x 2,160 (DCI-compliant), Brightness: 48 cd/m² (DCI-compliant / Minimum), Contrast Ratio: 4,000 : 1 (Minimum), Compatibility with Dolby Media Server (IMS3000) & Dolby Atmos.
It is controlled to the low standard cinema brightness levels of 48 Cd/M2, no mention is made how bright it can go while retaining its DCi colour space, contrast and its 'Real Black' performance.
The modules appear to be either rectngular in porttrait mode or squarish depending on the picture shown:
The more detailed specifications confirm this: Aspect Ratio 64 : 90 (per Cabinet). The Resolution is 192 × 270 per Cabinet. Offering 51,840 Pixels per Cabinet, this makes for a Pixel Density of 90,000 per Square Meter.
As it are SMD LEDs that offer a Visual Viewing Angle (Horizontal/Vertical) of 120º, 120º it is save to conclude there is no front filter/dispersion surface covering them.
More specifications are to be found here.
The 'Inquiry to buy' page does not yet list the LED Cinema in its pull down menu.
