Large OEM and ODM (DLP) Projector maker Delta electronics of Taiwan will Showcase the New Vivitek 4K Ultra HD Projector at CES 2017. The HK2288 4K Ultra HD is Vivitek's inaugural product for its new 4K Home Cinema Projector Product Series, which is expected to grow and expand throughout 2017. Available in black or white, the powerful HK2288 is engineered with an energy efficient lamp that lasts up to 4,000 hours (Dynamic Eco Mode). Through vivid color, rich blacks and crisp resolution, friends and family will be instantly captivated by what's showing on your home theater.
Vivitek has been turned into Delta's vehicle of first launch for new projector technologies, from its channel for older projectors that ODM clients had seen replaced with a new model. This started all the way back at IFA 2009, when Vivitek was one of the first two brands to launch an high-end LED projector based on Delta's design win with TI for an LED projector platform. This has turned into Delta being more and more a branded supplier with Vivitek, however we can still expect to see Delta designs and products show up in other brands' line-up. So, we expect to see other 4K DLP models, using the TI XPR technology, DMD and optical actuator, by Delta.
The HK 2288 is scheduled to be available in Q3 2017 at an MSRP of $2,999. This price is clearly below other XPR DLP projectors, a clear example of Vivitek's value for money strategy, at all performance levels.
At CES Delta will also launch an HD Ultra Short-Throw Laser Projector, the Vivitek's DH765Z-UST that, with its claimed 3500 lumens output, could be very interesting for living and mediaroom use, depending on price. Regardless, the light engine developed for this unit is a likely candidate for implementation in the 4K platform, especially as other brands, like Optoma and BenQ have already announced their Philips HLD engine versions, or intentions for a laser-phosphor based version, for higher brightness.
