And 3D is declared dead by TV makers, now Sony and LG told CNET they will not bring to market any TVs supporting 3D this year. Something expected, but now explicitely confirmed to the tech newsservice. This follows the abandonnement of 3D by Samsung last year. And the lacking support by the large Chinese vendors, like TCL and HiSense/Sharp.
"3D capability was never really universally embraced in the industry for home use, and it's just not a key buying factor when selecting a new TV", Tim Alessi, LG's director of new product development, told CNet.
Sony told CNET "Based on current market trends we decided not to support 3D for our 2017 models".
