  • Sony show at CinemCon 2017 a Dual Light Engine True Laser 4K Pr.

I have got some information’s on the big DCI Projector Sony will show in about 2 weeks at CinemaCon 2017 in Las Vegas.

What I have hear so far ....it sounds very promising!

    - Dual Light Engine
    - New Technology Green Laser .
    - Very bright 3D.
    - Single Lens design.
    - Very high Cr. because of the 2 Light Engine design.
    - Good despeckle.
    - Release possible 2018.

I hope to hear more information about it during the show but when I count what advantages this technic can have it sounds to me very promising!

Sony should do a home cinema version as well in this design it can be a good successor for the
VW 5000 in 2018 or later.

Thanks very much for the heads up Wolfgang. I certainly hope this is the projector we've been hearing about. With the screen size I have now the extra light and as always more contrast would be welcome.

      Hi Art

Nice to see you here .

Yes I am also think that this is a good development and I hope we can soon have some better information about it.
Interesting will be the Cr. on off and the Ansi Cr. this pr. offers and if this technology can be also will come in a high end home cinema pr. and if so when.
I doubt that we will see very soon a finish product but in a good year from now......
How big is your new screen now?

        Wolfgang,
It's 16' wide. This is the largest screen that works in my room.

This is a almost 5 Meter wide screen a very good size and a good match with your Sony 5000.

I say since long time that screen size should be as big as possible in every home cinema.
Best is always to have the biggest possible screen.

I redesign my holiday house cinema in August 2016.
I install new speakers woofer Dolby Decoder new Sony 4K Projector VW 520 AND a new bigger screen.
The wall was 3.7 meter wide.
The screen I had in the past was 3 meter wide.
Now I made a new from wall to wall screen that was 3.6 meter wide see some pictures from the install I did myself.

In a good week we will hear reports from the public.

I know some people that will be at the show and they will report to me.

For me there are few things important and good to know:
-How good the cr. on off are and how about ansi cr.?
Knowing that most other dual light engine designs are having even if they can show very high on off cr. like the Dolby Vision Projectors only average good Ansi cr.
-Are this Pr. will have also a 6P Laser Version for non Silver Screens?
-Are a smaller Home Cinema Version will be coming using this technology?
-How stabil the Chips are. Can Sony protect them as they did with the Sony VW 5000 Pr.?
And some other things like price level and possible delivery time.
