I found out today from Chris Cooly that Sony will give you for free if you ask software that will allow you to stack or overlap two of their 4K projectors. The software works on all of their 4k projectors. I believe this is the same software used to align Sonys 4k Cinema projectors. The end result is perfect alignment. This is very interesting. Mayer, you could stack both projectors for a nice bright picture with good contrast on your big screen.

Thanks for side comparison where clearly is visible deeper blacks and more color. That was also a first thing that i noticed when switched from 520 to 760 last week!
You should change a VW760 HDMI setting to enhanced mode then YCbCr will go trough 4:4:4 instead of 4:2:2 at 24p

This Software only works with the VW5000 so far I know.

Hi Mayer, Hope you are well! Been a while since we spoke.
I spoke with the Sony engineering team. The "Projector Calibration Pro" software has the Stacking "Panel Alignment" feature. They have confirmed it works with all their 4K projectors. And not just current models either. Even the older 4K models.

test 3 as 1 and 2 were in the wrong thread;-).
Got a 760 and compare it with my 520 that was one year and some moths old.
As I have a 7 Meter wide screen I put both Pr. under ideal condition to the screen and each Pr. made a
3.5 meter wide screen.
Than this pictures are made with a 50MP Canon and bring down to 8K resolution.
When you download this pictures you can get the full 8K resolution!
UPDATE: 8K not works I post the 4K Version.
Please note that the 520 was one year under very worst condition (big humidity and no use) the 750 is brand new.

Hi Chris
Yes time if flying fast..... Try to contact you but cannot get you.
So this is good info that all Pr. work with this software.
But we should know that the optic inside the 760/885 is not a very top optic like the one in the 5000.
So therefore it will be difficult to do such a stack!
It will be a bit like a lottery when you select 2 units that match good together it can be good but it can be opposite as well.
I am not a fan of stacking Pr. in general.
I did it in the past a lot of stacks with a 9" CRT Sony G 90 a Marantz 1280x720 single chip DLP and a Christy HD 8K on top I have a Sony Qualia Double stack and before I move to the Barco Thor a Barco B 32 (4K DLD Xenon 3Chip) Double stack.
So I am sure nobody try more stacks so I have much practice in this.
CRT no problem to stack.
Full HD possible to stack.
Here you can match the pixels relatively good that you can almost see 2K resolution after stacking.
I highly doubt that this was possible for top UHD 4K HDR Material at true 4 K resolution!
I guess you kill in BEST CASE about 50% of your resolution that was at the disc.
I have seen 4K Pr. stacks that not even show Full HD anymore.
Put a 4K Test Pattern on or even a Full HD Test Pattern and you know what is wishfull thinking and reality!
I see many stacks and last I saw was at CES 2016 a double stack Sony 5000 that had about 3 to 5 pixels difference in the corners between Pr. A and B and in the center 1 to 2 Pixels.
Looks not good.
I also hear that this software kills some lumen and cr. but I never try it.

I will try this as well.
I do lately some more cr. measurements and there was some surprising I discover.
Sometime I measure between 14.500 to 14.700:1 and the other time I found only 12.400 to 12.600:1.
I don’t know the reason for it but I will find out.
This strange behavior is only at HDR 4K Material there not any other SDR Material show this!
BTW it looks my unit had a very nice optic inside it was a surprise and confirm that Sony did improve this optic that was some years ago not as good as today.
But this can variate I am sure.
