THE RENDERING IS USING MOSCOW CUSTOM LT-20S AS WE COULD NOT MODEL LT-28 IN TIME. It is clear widths and heights need to go outside screen. OH BOY

Major screen redesign and additional door required TO ACCESSBEHIND SCREEN AS NEW FORWARD PROSCENIUM WILL HOUSE HEIGHTS AND WIDTHS.

      "Hi Peter

The 10” driver in the LT10 is the same one as we fit in the V3110 studio monitor. The V3110 replaces the VS2108 which had twin 8” drivers. The VS2108 was a very good and popular monitor but the single 10” is better and more suited to multi-channel installations.

Trevor Horn is impressed, Hans Zimmer is impressed,  but what do they know?

The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden London are also impressed. They have  roughly 150 units installed.

The LT10 is a great speaker, of course in the right place, it has another advantage over the LT28, it actually exists.

We have an excellent passive crossover and the load is easy to drive with any amplifier.

I will send you a PDF with the AMT centralised in a day or two.

The only reason for going to twin 8” drivers would be if you really need a lower profile, there is no other reason.

To make sure I understand this correct the Dolby CP850 cinema processor does not upscale a non Atmos mix. HT variety will upscale?
Do all HT processors in question have both Atmos and Auro processing on board and which brand is currently considered king of the hill.

Dolby wants to preserve the directors intention that is why cinema atmos will deliver a 5.1or 7.1 in 7.1. and home atmos upconverter DOLBY SURROUND will not use the width channels (according to T Grimani -who was introduced to Atmos at the Gravity premiere that changed my business model -perhaps the most important Atmos channels are the side fronts). I have spent a thousand hours deciphering comparing and planning system architectures for  these 3d sounds.

To cut to the second question the brands to look for at the moment are Datasat which has an amazing 16 channel AURO suite (Jeff declared it on his new theater premiere with 4 couples THE BEST PROCESSOR EVER with the Questeds) and will have a card update to Atmos within 6 months, and Trinnov a powerhouse quad i7 supercomputer with the most complex 3d manipulation software on the planet but one that requires a dedicated professional to get to sound right. The Datasat is going to predict better results guaranteed installed by a semi competent professional with a good ear. The Trinnov however is the Formula One, lots of tweaking and calibrating but at the end THE FIRST home Atmos out the door with 16 , 24 or 32 channels. The Trinnov will have AURO as well.

There are several others and I will post more You-tubes covering these kit demos, but cutting to the chase if you don't want a lot of effort Datasat is a safer bet. Me however because I am a sucker for punishment will propose a Trinnov 24 for SKOLL Upgrade 2 this week.

I got a prompt response from Dolby's top engineer to my proposal of having Home Atmos Premier certified.

            Hi Peter,

My name is Michael Smithers and we spoke at the Dolby booth at the CEDIA expo. I promised to get back to you regarding your questions on “Atmos Premium” certification.

I checked with our professional cinema people. We don’t have any “Atmos Premium” certification program for commercial cinemas.

Dubbing stages that Dolby certifies as being capable of mixing Atmos titles receive the “Dolby Atmos Premier Studio Certification” but there aren’t multiple quality tiers. There is just one certification. Maybe this is what you were referring to? Meyer Acheron are used in some Atmos certified dubbing stages but so are products from other companies.

            http://www.dolby.com/us/en/professional/cinema/industry/content-services.html

All Atmos cinema installations are designed according to our guidelines and are approved by our film services teams (around the world) before they can operate as an Atmos cinema.

Dolby doesn’t have any plans to implement a premium certification program for commercial Atmos cinemas nor for consumer Atmos products. I understand why you are interested in this, however we feel it’s not in the best interests of Dolby nor our Atmos product licensees.

            Best regards,

            Michael Smithers

Perhaps a dissapointment  but at least Craig Eggers expressed the idea of visiting , listenin and measuring one of our Quested 24-32 channel TRINNOV or DATASAT installs and let us know how we did, if only just for kicks and for R&D future planning.

We will continue to expound the virtues of fatigue-free high SPL Atmos systems through cutting edge reproduction chain and will submit to Dolby as soon as one of the Saturn Moons are completed or upgraded.
