Anyone know much about the rumored new Christie unit for large venue ? At least on paper looks to be quite the projector...specs are lacking however.

Wich one Art? The Crimson 3 DMD 25K lumens (its launch being the main focus at ISE, in the area of projectors)? The DCi compliant RGB 4K internal RGB LASER, the Rental &Staging version I was told at ISE was not yet released, unlike the original DCi version that was launched at one of the Asian shows in December, with shipping started in January? So,something realy new? Nope haven't heared about it.

The DCi version started shipping beginning of the year. At ISE I was told there was supposed to be a Rental & Staging version, that was yet to be released at that time (February). This is specced at 5000:1 not Dolby Vision territory. So, there will be an 60K lumens version? I was told there was supposed to be a higher brightness version, but not that bright, we will see.

I dont know may this have change but in the past Christy always have not sealed the light engine like Barco did it.
Result was that dust very fast kills all the cr. as dust is a heavy cr. killer.
The procedure to clean is almost not possible at home.
Barco sealed the optical block so almost not any cr. drop in many years.
Keep this in your mind if you looking for a Christy.

The say this since long time.
Problem is what they understand with "sealed optics"?
The light engine need to be sealed optic is a much less problem as they are very fine since long time protected from dust.
Hope Christy will have a "sealed Light Engine"!
90% DCI Color is not good!
