    • After trying to get more light from projection for almost all of my adult life this is a good problem to have. Right now I have about 9000 lumens and a 1.3 gain screen so then going to a negative gain screen (which is what I anticipate using) than my thinking was not to use a projector with about the same lumens but instead the next higher output version, of course, the massive contrast jump makes this a point to consider. As you said an ND filter on the port to tweek it could solve the problem.

          • Art, While waiting for a table this past CEDIA. Guess what the discussion was. To clarify the record i asked when i was in Toronto Audio Fest the week before the demo "Mike, is this the same projector that was shown at the NAB 15 innovation booth, but with new lasers?" and he said yes. At that time I too had specked it for the space ship house. So our esteemed Nigel was not the first to approach Chrisitie for HT with it.Lol

            • Peter did you approach them for it at or right after NAB? Otherwise I was the first (approached about the big dolby one, to which Christie exec told me Christie held the right to market to non public exhibition/cinema markets) and alerted you, LOL.

But in the end it went nowhere, Christie even cancelling the project.

                    • So less than two months away. Happy to hear your impressions of the demo conducted and curated by Nigel. Also love to hear from others.

                      • There are many great HDR scenes that I enjoyed at Brad's Sim2 Lumis demo 2 weeks ago.

What impressed me the most of all the content the most rich and nuanced indoor shot in Shazam so exuberant and delicate. Looks like crap by comparison on Barco RGB, one of the few scenes where the lumis' HDR blows away the Barco 70mm like EDR overall  image aesthetic.

The scene were the boy first meets his new Foster family. Art bring this to Christie. I am thinking about attending since I have pending business in the Omni PH, Blofeld owes me a chopper ride, let's see if I can convince him.
