I have been accused of blatantly promoting my company, persecuted in the forums, banned for what I essentially claim to be my purest pursuit of Home Cinema Nirvana. It is tough to lose contacts with the hundreds of friends I have made over the years, it feels like someone shot your family overnight, also working for rich people is not the best way of accumulating wealth, the Moons Of Saturn projects level of complexity creating new bespoke products that do not exist, and crafting a cool looking cinema space is a very tedious process that can extend way longer than what everyone anticipated so what I am saying is i have led a very sacrificed life pursuing the Holy Grail. Let's just say that recently i had been so Jaded as to considering taking a freighter to an unknown region of the planet and disappear altogether. This past weekend something amazing happened that I had not seen coming by any stretch of my imagination. I now have renewed faith that the sacrifices were not in vain.

    Today's Horoscope summed it up.
Apr 21, 2019 - You may get frustrated when people who've taken shortcuts gain on your position, Virgo. You believe that hard work is necessary to get where you need to go. You aren't afraid to expend the blood and sweat needed for success. You've planned well and you're on track. Try not to get upset by others who take the easy route. They may seem like they're gaining on you, but you're light-years ahead.

I will try to objectively share with you what my design considerations were when undertaking the development of this most amazing theater, i will even share with you my trade secret content playlists that exploit the content to be able to make valid scene analysis in order to determine why the system is working better than my six year effort had led me to expect. Anyone interested in experiencing this alternate offering to the JBL/SONY 5000 school of home cinema adoption now will have a chance to audition it, unlike my European Mega Systems, the tree has fallen in the forest but this time you will have a chance to visit the forest and experience the tree falling in front of your very eyes, from the Selfish Bastard seat. And this  thing you will agree when you experience is the Giant Sequoia of all tree falls it is the greatest spectacle. More background and analysis to come.

Saw your tweets this week, advantage to posting pictures here is that they are much clear, and even larger when downloaded. Great project and HT you and LaSalle created.

Hi Art the seats are at 8 and 16 feet away, with the Bar at about 18 from a 13'9" 1.77 screen. Personally the front row is too close for 2k dlp kind of an IMAX effect, but Brad just cares about the selfish bastard row.

I enjoy close seating as you know. I just wondered since the angle the heads were in the front row looked like they were pretty close.

So do I and a lot of people, especially with aging eyesight;-). With the Sim2 system what you gain in dynamic or contrast resolution one loses in spatial resolution, so how close a seating position did find optimal with your Sim2 HT or Christie.., HD projectors?

actually Brad said that the distances are 9 and 17. With the sim 2 before they aligned the 2 projectors perfectly the best seats were the mlp and right behind it at the Bar, but alan had let the subs to their thing for the stack to settle, so now i have to go back.

For dlp cinema projectors .9 sw works fine to me. Im partial to d-cinema because of the high SNR, true color, and excellent optics, although with the new r608 that front row would have been fine. Sony definitely improved something on the sxrd panels last year, the ansi and snr went through the roof, the colors now accurate to a xenon cinema aficionado. Your lens is no slouch either i can confirm.

Nigel has just published his very much awaited review of this Sim2 DUO Plus ''projector'. His conclusion is that it delivers most of the contrast performance of the Christie Ultimate professional projector, above 4% of Average Display Luminance. From 20 ADL nearly identical performance.

                            Compared to the JVC NX9:

This means that for any and all video content that is 0.8% ADL or higher, which is over 90% of all video content, the SIM2 HDR DUO PLUS outperforms the JVC RS3000/NX9… and considerably so.

In fact, it’s not even close.

At just 1% ADL the HDR DUO PLUS has left the JVC RS3000/NX9 in the dust having already surpassed its performance by 40%. At 2% ADL it produces circa 4 times greater contrast performance. At 5% ADL its performance is 5 times greater. At 10% ADL it’s 6 times greater. And at 20% ADL it’s 7.5 times greater!

Sorry JVC, but SIM2 with the HDR DUO PLUS has just stolen your ‘Best Home Theater Projector Contrast’ crown.<\q>

Finally there is a projector that has a lamp modulation that actually works, providing upto 4.5 times the native contrast level.

                            UNRIVALLED DYNAMIC CONTRAST FUNCTIONALITY
Dynamic contrast functionality with projectors has always been a bit of a mixed bag; in that in almost all instances improving the contrast and black levels is accompanied by undesirable video artefacts, such as pumping, blown-out highlights, crushed shadow detail, erroneous fade-to-black, and color shift.

This has resulted in many users simply turning it off and operating the projector natively, without it.
Achieving perfect dynamic contrast functionality with projectors historically has been seemingly a practical impossibility. However, it would appear that SIM2 with the HDR DUO PLUS has miraculously achieved this. In short, this is the first and only projector that has passed every single one of my Dynamic Contrast torture tests.<\q>

Summed up Sim2 delivers, following its initial disappointing demonstration of the HDR DUO at ISE in Amsterdam a few years ago.

The initial demo at ISE I purely blame on Joe Kane's reliance on instrumentation gone unvalidated by expert eyes, in 3 occasions he has done that with Sony and Barco Projectors during the 1990s. One should balance actual eyes on with instrumentation readings, Nigel outdid himself very thoroughly in both assessments. I did get a kick out of the Tony Montana desk 4 piles of powder gamma test.
