  • High contrast a risk for those with photosensitive epilepsy?

There are several movies in the cinema that preview an alert to movie goers about the visual effects and flashing lights to those who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy. A high contrast image multiplies the risk. Seizures and strokes in cinemas is not uncommon. As display technology advances and cinema LED Walls and hi/infinity contrast projection become the norm, one would expect the number of seizure's will increase.
"IT 2" and HBOs " The Watchmen" also carry that warning.

The BBC has been known for its this 'item contains flash photography' in its newscast. Overhere no-one ever points this out, so we only know it from the UK broadcaster. The emphasis is on the (repetitive) flash nature, not constant high contrast. Is there any research or even anecdotal evidence that suggests that high contrast, instead of the flashing, is an issue? US=the land of the disclaimers.
