News for ISE 2016, early February, is starting to trickle in, interesting German vendor with a Shenzen LED display plant, starting to supply to/via NEC, but unfortunately the smallest pitch is 4mm, so too large for high-end video, but todays's announcement is definitely fine pitched enough. Sharp will bring the first commercialized 8K LCD display back to the Rai Conference Center for ISE. We have seen the various generations of prototypes at IBC in the NHK sponsored SHV demonstrations at the IBC's Future Zone. The latest generation included the BBC-NHK Log Hybrid Gamma HDR. With the first NHK Super HiVision starting later in 2016 there was the promise at IBC of the first 85" 8K Sharps going on sale. They started shipping in limited quantity in Japan on October 30th, at the equivalent of €119K/$132K.
Sharp said today that it will be unveiling its 8K displays aswell as Next Generation collaboration with its BIG PAD lines of touch screens and videowalls at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), 9 – 12 February 2016, in Amsterdam. Visitors to stand 11-E76 are invited to discover the next generation of high-end retail signage solutions, with the extension of Sharp’s 4K range and new 8K solutions to include wider colour range with more accurate colour performance, as well as Sharp’s leadership in Interactive Flat Panel Displays through the company’s range of collaborative BIG PAD touchscreens, which offer more creative ways of working.
Michael Bailly, Product Planning and Marketing Director, Visual Solutions at Sharp Information Systems Europe said: “At the first ever four-day ISE, we are excited to showcase our biggest, brightest and best products for 2016 – from our largest 90” display, to 7 meters of configured BIG PADs and even 8K video solutions. Sharp is committed to bringing only the highest quality, most innovative displays to market that solve business challenges, and as we begin to integrate our service offerings with those of Sharp’s Document Solutions division, we look forward to providing businesses with complete, connected solutions which support their aspirations and transform the way they engage with information.”
Sharp will unveil a host of industry-leading products including a slim 80” 4K monitor with expanded colour gamut for demanding retail applications, a 70” BIG PAD offering enhanced wireless collaboration, the first European showcase of an 85” display with stunning 8K resolution, and the world’s first 80” capacitive touch interactive display.
Well this claim is completely untrue, as we detailed above how we have seen the 85" 8K Sharps since the past decade or was it the start of this one, time sure flies;-), and getting to market can be excruciatingly slow, lol. So the Sharp touch solution is not precise enough for 8K, that's how this reads?
In addition to its new products Sharp will also show the flagship products from its existing ranges including the recently launched PN-E full-HD professional LCD monitors, its innovative and technologically advanced series of collaborative touchscreens, the BIG PAD, and a new generation of exciting displays.
Sharp’s partners will be demonstrating complete solutions using Sharp displays in several zones on the booth; Corporate Office, Education, 4K, Digital OOH and Retail. Each zone will show the business benefits that can be realised by using Sharp displays in different environments.
