Well I am hoping that my fist ammendment rights get respected in this sactuary as people fear change. And forums are run by people with commercial interests, and incorrect aspect ratios when it comes to immersion. LOL Since there is none of that going on here I will re-post my controversial design to replace a 100" projection system with a concept I call: CINEOLED. Cineoled argues that due to the additional image quality dimensions (yes a loosely used terms to explain for wide color gamut, perfect contrast best for the size 3d and all those fantastic differentiators that OLED has brought so cheaply to the videophiles table. I Say with absolute assurance that OLED in it's current state trumps any other image (with the exception of wide color gamut 6P laser HC)at 1.5x and 1.5x it's size.
Because I see the upcoming rapid growth in OLED sizes and also strongluy favoring 16 x9 a spect ratio in favor of cinemascope displays and anamrophic crap paraphernalia , as is a huge market growth potential, specially on yachts and luxury condominiums the likes of which cover the maimi skyline, I have been suffering all kinds of thwartering techniques through hacking, AND NOW FORUM SENSURE. For sharing my vision of the future as it should rightfuly be.
So thanks for the sanctuary mods!
Just when I thought that* IMMERSION 2025* was going to be athing for 6P laser MINI-PLF theaters only I acquired a 65 OLED for the lab to see it's suitablility for the replacement of a projection system in a 250' Yacht which we already are 600 man hours in the multiroom and cinema design.
This little exercise in OLED experimentation opened a whole new possibility of designing truly super high end cinemas that are more compact in Nature but that are designed around a new concept I came up with: CINEOLED. Since there is no doubt that these screens will rapidly ramp up in size.
Basically with Cineoled you design your sound system to accommodate a future larger size or install the front height and width channels so that you can reposition them when the next size hits. Ideally I will try negotiating something out of LG for these type of repeat customers of their top of line Magnum OLED's. When I have the CINEOLED website up and running Im thinking on a reservations page where entry level afficionados can reserve a larger oled to be replaced on one of the CINEOLED swap every year the screen cinemas, thus finding a good home for the screens being replaced by the screen augmentation program.
Since this is a Marine Installation (but what a perfect model for an isolated Condo Cinema) I will name it code name Calypso (even though the idea is being warmly received the prliminary system design is not final).
I am trying to utilize the existing 7.1 cabinet cutout infrastructure intact yet accomodate a full blown full immersion system with many a channel and for it to be a trully format agnostic cinema handling the 3 codecs plus ome crucial steered width channels a la meridian 561/861.

So speakerwise it's likely a very special purpose layout as in a condo there would be freedom to deploy more inwalls and in ceilings, yet is a very interesting experiment in using dual mono speakers that create a solid phantom cneter image out of 2 enclosures, like the swiss super high end Goldmund Epilogue, the Artisons we used in soho beach house, or the custom leons we used in One Hyde Park throughtout. This time I will be using what I consider to be the finest Custom speaker makers: James. Their capacity to customize stuff is really the standard setter, plus they sound great and their quad speaker dispersion coverage should provide decent phantom images, plus they are marine as well with no corrodable elements. Not that that is an issue since the temperature in that cinema is 65 farenheit. Damned coldest cinema I have ever been in..
But we are going to up the ante with the James dual mono and make triple mono speakers to create more speaker counts.
I used the Three tenors to elucidate where Pavarotti would be standing in such a system (suitably recorded)
So here is the screen 100" Stewart that is in place used by a c-3x sim.
And here is the old denon receiver powering a B&W system using 4 sig 8 surrounds to be replaced by bespoke 5 inch woofs and quad domes TRIPLE CHANNEL SPEAKERS.
And the new shock mounted IMMERSION servcie rack (blu link connects front channels to the amps behind the OLED for x-overing bass management)
You've never heard this crazy concept before because I just invented it last week , but I have installed plenty of dual mono to understand that they do work and this should be the most immerssive system afloat including the Imax on the mega-sailboat..
Why no Alcons, let them get a footing in the home market first and when the 100 OLED is just around the corner I will press. LOL Certainly their high dynamics and Casper coefficincy factor will improve things immerssive overall, alhought for this size I have been promised 106 db output by The Chief engineer at James.
Here is a rendering of the system in summer of 2016:
Already because of the new corolary that oled trumps projection of 1.5X it's size, the screen automatically trumps not only that 100" diagonal stewart it would trump one 5-10 inches bigger.
Those pretty fish is a tiltle you will be able to download in Kaleidescape 4k HDR. Bejewelled Fishes available in non-hdr on the Sony 4k Media Player, but I rather use the Kaleidescape due to HDR.
So CINEOLED's by definition get replaced with bigger screens, here is a sketch of the system x'mas 2017.
This size is conjecture but I bet something bigger than 77 is shown at CES as preview of bigger sizes to come. Gentsat this point due to the additional dimensions (as I call it), the incredible resolution ,wide colorgamut, 3d, HDR etc. uniquely achievable with OLED or 6PHDR Projection, this 100 would be appearing with the imapct of the finest 150-160 inch projector, certainly all blulaser, xenonandu hp goliath projectors would be beaten to apulp by CINEOLED100. But using BIM and in coordinati on with LG or Other OLED manufacturers I will design the motorized servcie access universal screenmount and speakercover canopy to handle not only 100" but up to a 103-104 too. That is where this baby stops growing.
TBC
