Available from September Viesonic will be marketing a new generation of Ultra Short Throw (0.25) projectors with a Laser-Phosphor light source. The 1080P projector is rated at 4000 lumens, with a 3000 lumens version available for applications that would be overpowered by the 4000 lumens. Also 1920x1200 version will be available also at 3000 lumens. These come with an optional UST screen, that was also on display at the stand next to Viewsonic's, that of Ricoh.
These machines are produced by gigant DLP ODM/OEM Coretronic, that for the first time will be marketing projectors under its own brand instead of its (business) consumer facing brand and sales organisation Optoma. It will market the 3000 lumens HD unit as Coretronic U28C SSI Laser cinéma.
The current generation includes an interactivity camera, wich the new ones do not have. The current ones shown here at the projecta stand with its Parallax UST screen, are also sold by Dreamvision, and Screenmaker DNP is combination with its 100" Laser panels. So expect the new ones to also show up at other smaller projector vendors.
Current generation, due to interactive camera eye, suited for gaming set-ups:
