Epson introduces the world's first 3LCD projectors with 4K UHD Signal Input and HDR for under $3,000. The 5040UB will have a new HDMI input, but not the pixelshifting Epson refers to as 4K Enhancement, that's limited to the Home Cinema 5040UBe. In addition it also launches two premium models exclusively sold through CEDIA Dealers in the US.
In Europe, in the past, CEDIA style dealers often sold the same regular models as the big box stores, as they measured the same, offered the same warranty, not the dinky 90 days but 2000-3000 hours on the lamp, came with the same extra promotional lamp, but listed for hundreds of euros less. In the US there is a real difference in warranty between the regular and CEDIA line.
