Kudos to Barco for offering this program. Every projector manufacture should offer this service to the end user.
The SCC file is responsible for color and brightness uniformity across the screen. Every new projector ships with a factory SCC calibration but there are parameters that over time can have a negative impact on the original SCC file. The ability to create a new file is no different then having the ability to get a tune-up for the automobile.
Below is a typical test pattern used to perform the calibration.
