PMA Reports on Top-Selling Projectors in January

For more than 18 years now, PMA Research has collected monthly sell-through data from leading North American projector dealers, retailers, web resellers and distributors. Their Tracking Service family of monthly reports offers timely data and analysis on unit sales, true volume-weighted street prices, and inventories of front projectors for these channels.
Each month, PMA Research posts their “Top 5” Projector Lists for the following categories:
Home Entertainment Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Retail Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of U.S. retailers and web resellers. In the Home Entertainment projector category, the January results showed Optoma had a pair of top-selling models in the “Top 5” with the HD142X, and the HD27 coming in first and fifth, respectively. BenQ’s HT2050 took the second spot, and Epson’s PowerLite Home Cinema 640 came in third. ViewSonic rounded out the January list with the PJD7828HDL taking the fourth spot.
Mainstream Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Distributor Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of U.S. AV and IT distributors. Among Mainstream projectors, NEC took the top two spots with their NP-M283X and NP-M323X coming in first and second, respectively. Epson followed with a trio of projectors. The Epson BrightLink 595Wi, PowerLite X27 and PowerLite 97H came in third, fourth and fifth, respectively.
4,000+ Lumen Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Pro AV Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of U.S. dealers and integrators. In the 4,000+ Lumen projector category, the January results showed Panasonic with the best-selling model – the PT-RZ570W. Hitachi followed with the CP-X5022WN in second place. Epson’s PowerLite 1985WU took the third spot, followed by Sony’s VPL-FHZ57/W in fourth. Optoma rounded out the January list with the EH515 in fifth place.
