Eurofins has launched its 4K HDR Ultra HD Logo Scheme for Television sets and consumer devices. Initial support is provided by LG and chipsetvendor MStar, that have adopted the Logo to inform consumers about the capabilities of their upcoming devices. Displaying 4K, Wide Colour Gamut and HDR. A competitor to the UHD Premium logo by the UHD Alliance.
"LG is a global force in the TV industry, and we are proud to be the first manufacturer to carry Eurofins' 4K HDR Ultra HD logo on a range of our next-gen TVs", said SY LEE, Head of TV product planning team at the LG Home Entertainment Company, LG Electronics. Adding; "The logo will make it easy for consumers to identify those TVs that receive and display HDR, UHD content – resulting in a significantly better viewing experience".
Eurofins Digital Testing's logo scheme identifies devices that have been fully tested and proven to deliver the highest picture quality currently available, including High Dynamic Range (HDR), Ultra-High Definition (UHD) and Wide Color Gamut (WCG) simultaneously, from broadcast and broadband sources, as well as HDMI. Beginning later this year, applicable models of LG Electronics' TVs will carry the logo, and feature the latest generation of 4K HDR Ultra HD display. MStar will use the test materials in development of their latest SoC components, to better enable their customers to support HDR in end-devices. Eurofins Digital Testing's logo ensures that LG Electronics' and MStar's next-generation of UHD HDR screens will be easily recognizable in the marketplace.
Johan Craeybeckx, Business Line Director, Eurofins Digital Testing International, adds; "We are excited that LG and MStar have committed to Eurofins' logo scheme, which gives consumers confidence to invest in the latest and the best TV technology".
Eurofins Digital Testing's 4K HDR Ultra HD logo scheme certifies that all qualifying equipment successfully delivers the extended contrast range and colors essential for HDR and WCG, as well as ensuring that the full potential of UHD is met, which offers up to four times the clarity of existing HD services. HDR brings a new dimension to content with vivid, true to life colors, darker blacks and brighter whites, which brings a whole new viewing experience into the home.
