DVDFab, the industry leader in the field of DVD, Blu-ray and video backup solutions, introduced the world's 1st 4K Ultra HD ripper software, a brand-new product which allows users to convert unprotected 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray movies to MKV and M2TS videos with lossless quality and still to retain the HDR10 image quality.
With the highest video and the sharpest image quality to date, the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray movies are edging out regular Blu-rays and becoming increasingly popular day by day. Last week, DVDFab unveiled its 4K UHD copy software called DVDFab UHD Copy. This week, the Chinese software vendor came up with another 4K UHD backup tool, the DVDFab UHD Ripper, offering users, who don't want to copy to blank BD-50/25 discs, nor to ISO files/folders, an alternative way to back up 4K Ultra HD Blu-rays.
With this 4K UHD ripper tool, users can convert an unprotected 4K Ultra HD movie into either MKV or M2TS digital video format, with flexible options regarding video quality. If users prefer lossless video quality, they can choose the "MKV.Passthrough" or "M2TS.Passthrough" conversion profiles which change nothing but the container format itself during the conversion process. The advantage of these two profiles is that the quality of converted video quality will remain 100% identical to the original, but the drawback is that the converted file size will be very big. If the file size is the main concern, users can choose "MKV.H265.4K.10bit" or "M2TS.H265.4K.10bit" profile which shrink file size down to a reasonable level with the best video quality possible.
Preserve the Stunning HDR10 Video Quality
HDR10 and Dolby Vision are the most recent breakthroughs in the film and TV industries which bring the video image quality of Blu-ray movies up to the next level. Similar to the UHD copy software, the newly released UHD ripper software can also preserve the HDR10image quality of the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in the resulting MKV and M2TS videos, no matter which profile was used. However, due to the lack of playback device that is used for differentiating Dolby Vision format from non-Blu-ray video file, the Dolby Vision video format can not beretained.
4K Hardware Acceleration Ensures Fast Speed
Due to the massive data processing requirement, converting even only the main movie title of a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray can take approximately 20 hours. Users do not need to worry, because this new UHD ripper software is able to take the advantage of CUDA and IQStechnologies, or the 4K hardware acceleration technology, to shorten the conversion time to only 1 hour, or shorter. In order to achieve this conversion speed, NVIDIA's top-end video cards, such as Pascal, GeForce GTX 10 Series or above, or Intel's high-end Kaby Lake processor series or above are required.
