  • Philips reveals further details on new 2018 65" OLED 973 OLED TV

The  65" OLED 973 was first shown at IFA in September as the 65POS9602, but the model designation used by Philips Brand Licencee TP Vision next year will look different than those used for the past two years. The OLED 973 will replace the POS901F en de POS9002 OLED TVs.

The TV will be complemented by cloth clad 60 Watt 6.1 channel soundbar. And offers voice control

The TV will be using a new version of the Philips P5 video processor, that will add support for HDR 10, HDR 10+, and HLG. The TV will run on a version of Android TV.

Sofar Philips has only released 55" OLED TVs the OLED 973 will be the first model to also come in 65", now word on adding a 77" inch, though (super) high TVs no longer seem part of the target market for Philips, like it used to be when still controlled by Philips back in the CRT TV days. The fact that it only now starts to offer an 65" model some time early next year is further indication of that. But that does not mean this TV will come cheap, as Philips is still an upmarket brand. Sofar no price information has been released.
