Digital Projection International will unveil two brand new 8K DLP Laser projectors at ISE 2018 (Amsterdam RAI, 6-9 February 20).
The British manufacturer will preview what it says is the world’s first 8K laser projector: the INSIGHT Dual Laser 8K. No other manufacturer has announced an DLP 8K projector yet, so when it arrives in the third quarter it will most likely be the first to come to market.The number of vendors producing and selling 4K DMD DLP projectors is limited, to begin with. So add the Quad Pixel Drive (Oops, that's a Panasonic brand), and there will be limited numbers of 8K models on the market.

"Set to be the world’s first commercially available DLP® laser 8K projector, the INSIGHT Dual Laser 8K sits in a class of its own when it comes to performance. Providing an ultra-high 8K resolution (7680 X 4320) of 33-million pixels through 25,000 ANSI lumens of solid-state laser-phosphor illumination, the new flagship projector is the ultimate solution for the most elaborate medical, scientific and immersive visualisation and large-venue applications. In addition to the resolution and lumen performance, it uses proven DLP technology incorporating 3x 1.38" DarkChip™ DMD™ chips and Digital Projection’s ColorMax™ technology to ensure superb colour accuracy and black levels. These are especially vital imaging characteristics when matching projectors in tiled or blended applications" the vendor promotes its upcoming projector. That judging by the description is the existing 4K, 25K lumens, three DMD laser-phosphor projector, with the XPR pixel shifting added. Most likely the new 4 shift TI announced recently, or a similar shifting implementation.
The M-Vision Laser 18K – 'a popular choice in rental and staging and the most flexible projector in its class'according to DPI – will also be highlighted at the show.
DPI cites easier blending as another key benefit of laser illumination, as laser projectors are closely matched “out of the box” for colour and brightness, with predictable and stable brightness providing close tracking in matched systems over the long-term. This will be shown for the third year in a row AV Stumpfl. The Austrain Sceen and mediaserver/blender manufacturer will use four Digital Projection INSIGHT 4K Dual Lasers (25K Lumens?) to light up its stand, showing off its screens and blending products. The Navitar booth (2-A40) will feature a HIGHlite Laser projector. The Showlogix stand (15-W310) will be making use of two E-Vision Laser projectors while Digital Projection’s ISE neighbour Stewart Filmscreen will enhance its booth (1-F50) with an E-Vision Laser 4K. Finally, Vioso, the blending software spun out from AvStumpfl will showcase 3 x E-Vision Laser 4K High Contrast projectors in a panadome installation.
