Absen is launching its ‘NXTGEN’ technologies at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) tradeshow in Amsterdam, next week, February 6-9, 2018. The few details that have come out sofar regarding the demo and product is that it will not only offer an 1.9mm pitch COB LED display, the same size as SiliconCore's first COB product, but that it will also feature common cathode technology, something SiliconCore says it has patented, on top of that the LEDs are fully embedded in a resin, something also part of SiliconCore's offer. So is there a form of licensing, or is this a full in house development?
Or the common cathode technology is limited to the HBB High Brightness Black 5000 nits 3.9 and 4.8 mm pitch SMD LED displays that Absen claims allows for a combination of high brightness and good Black performance.
Absen will show a 24’ wide display boasting 4K UHD resolution with over 8 million pixels, using the new Polaris Indoor 1.9mm LED.
Polaris 1.9mm COBALT (Chip-on-Board Advanced Light Technology) is Absen’s first Chip-On-Board solution. Specifically developed to meet the demands of 1mm LED in corporate live-events and other rental applications, COBALT provides exceptional product stability and demonstrates the new level of color consistency and superior image quality.
The Polaris 1.9mm COBALT uses Absen’s NanoShield Technology which encapsulates the LED chips with a durable layer of advanced composite material that offers the highest level of pixel protection from physical damage, perfect for use in rental applications.
The Polaris also features heat dissipation technology and 18-bit image processing providing high contrast, grayscale and refresh rates for the ultimate display experience, according to the LED Display maker.
