Acer America announced its premium home theater projector, the Acer VL7860, is now available in the United States with a limited one-year parts and labor warranty for $3,999.99 MSRP . The VL7860 features a compact design for delivering laser-quality visuals in a wide range of environments. This new model lets movie buffs enjoy the cinema at home with an intensely sharp 120-inch 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160) resolution display with 8.3 megapixel on screen.
“Ultra high-definition projection offers the ultimate home theater experience,” said Ronald Lau, Acer America director – stationary products. “Combined with a compact design that provides flexibility in placement options and dynamic 10W audio, the Acer VL7860 will delight even the most discriminating customers.”
Reaching up to 3,000 ANSI lumens and boasting 1,500,000:1 DynamicBlack contrast, which dynamically adjusts lamp power to optimum black levels, the Acer VL7860 delivers crystal-clear visuals. HDR-compatible, it shows colors as they truly are, reproducing a broader dynamic range of luminosity, contrast and brightness. It adjusts to bright scenes to illuminate important details, preserving rich blacks and enhancing details typically hidden in the shadows of darker images.
Leveraging the sRGB standard, the VL7860 eliminates deviation in color reproduction. It supports a wide color gamut of 110% of the Rec. 709 color space and is Rec. 2020 (also known as BT.2020) compatible to provide highly accurate, cinema-like colors.
It also ensures visuals are velvety smooth even in fast moving scenes thanks to the AcuMotion frame interpolation system, which calculates and generates intermediate frames, inserting them into existing ones for seamless motion.
Two built-in 5W speakers deliver high-quality sound eliminating the need for external speakers, while 1.6X zoom lets customers position the Acer VL7860 at a range of different throw distances. They can also leverage the ISFccc-certified (Certified Calibration Controls) Professional Calibration mode to optimize color and brightness to best suit the environment. A vertical lens shift enables vertical lens adjustment via control wheels and connectivity includes VGA and dual HDMI ports including one with MHL charging for smartphones and other devices.
Since the projector utilizes laser diode technology, there is no need to replace mercury-based lamps, which saves money, time and impact on the environment. In addition, ECO mode enables customers to further reduce power consumption and extend lamp life up to 30,000 hours.
