“Samsung is thrilled to be able to debut the world’s first 3D Cinema LED screen in Switzerland,” said Seog-gi Kim, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “We hope that more movie-goers can experience the Cinema LED screen firsthand as we look to partner with more theaters around the world.”

Seog-gi Kim is my man in Korea. He is responsible for building all led, microled and videowalls.

Hey the Swiss led screen thread has jammed up for me (maybe i posted too large pictures), so ill post here instead. Samsung got us passes for cinemacon hopefully they will have the sculpted sound system, that is a very interesting choice of terminology because my sound system for led walls i called soundscaped. very similar words. They use horns i use AMT's mine should be much cleaner. Also my power amps are the only digital amps with mosfet stages (big tube like sound) also unlike all digital amps that use third party modules, these are built from scratch by mc2 audio.

        Chris Buchanan to Present Keynote!

Scheduled for Sunday, 8 April, Chris Buchanan's keynote will speak to the future of moving pictures — as technologies ranging from LED screens to sensory immersion transform the viewing experience.

Prior to joining Samsung, Buchanan served in business development, sales and marketing roles for global social media marketing company Thismoment, with responsibility for the company's partner network. Earlier, at Amazon.com, he contributed to an original content initiative now known as Amazon Studios. As a part of the content acquisition team, he also licensed film and television programming for Amazon Video On Demand.

Buchanan was president of Joss Whedon's Mutant Enemy at 20th Century Fox, where he oversaw the critically acclaimed series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Angel," and "Firefly." He also produced Whedon's feature debut, "Serenity," at Universal Pictures. While at Warner Bros., Buchanan ran Jerry Weintraub Productions, where he developed a slate of films including "Ocean's Eleven."

In 2000, Buchanan co-founded Flixer, a venture-backed technology startup that provides digital marketing services to major media clients. Buchanan also founded the United Talent Agency's independent film department, where he represented cutting-edge filmmakers and packaged their productions. He began his career as a programming and acquisitions executive for Sony Pictures Entertainment in New York.

High end rec room on top of high end buildings. Next to the pool and the Gym. Or High-end Private cinema's. Private cinema's have been a strong trend in China, widely available in commercial property, in all price classes, but not as high end as your projects. Go see a movie, with friends or family in the privacy of your own cinema.

Seems like my original thread has some server side issues, so I will post my report here:

So, after Easter and everything I finally got around to check out the Samsung Screen. I saw Ready Player One, which I actually liked quite a lot.

So first off, it was best picture I have ever seen in a movie theater (or at home, don’t have an OLED to compare). Blacks were black, the colors were much more vibrant than what I have seen before, the contrast was amazing. You could not see any black bars or anything, the picture was almost floating in front of the room. Also the screen is really bright, the picture really pops out. The brightness actually illuminated the walls/floor around the screen quite a bit, so maybe some better light absorbing materials there might make the picture even a tad better.
One could not see any individual modules or borders in the screen, the picture was perfectly uniform.

Sound wise it sounded like any other theater I would say, maybe the effects were a bit quieter than other cinemas (but explosions etc shook the room thoroughly anyway), but that may be just preference of the owners/calibrator or related to the soundtrack of that movie. It actually sounded better in my opinion, the center channel with the voices was clear and coming directly from the screen. It seems there are loudspeakers hidden above the screen, providing left/right/center.
I did not see those speakers and I could not really snoop around as the manager/technician was demonstrating the system to some other people before and the after the movie, and I did not want to annoy them.

I took some photos and clips, but the camera of a phone does not give the real picture justice. But I am not sure how to post the two video clips here.

All in all I would say the cinema I have seen yet. Too bad I don’t have the necessary pocket money and room for something like that at home ;-)

Zack I don't know if the forum has a built-in videoplayer, or that we have to play it locally. But you can upload it here, but I assume it would be too large. So that leaves the various video hosts, Youtube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, anon-v, and so on.

Yes their Korean Installers are phenomenal, can you call and ask if it was korean, german korean percentage of installer mix? Don't want the Germans to get ahead of me like they did with Barco 6p.

Don't know who installed it, but I think a Swiss distributor was involved, they were mentioned in one of the press releases if I remember correctly.

Here the two short clips, but the cellphone camera is not ideal for such recordings.
