  • Philips to launch OLED903 65 OLED TV with B&W soundbar at IFA

The new Philips 65” OLED903 TV is the first product offered as part of the exclusive partnership with the audio specialists Bowers & Wilkins. The 903 uses Bowers & Wilkins expertise and technology to offer a new reference standard sound system – including four forward facing drivers in an enclosure covered by acoustically transparent Kvadrat cloth.

Philips is starting the sale of its new 55" OLED803 this month. The 65" should be available sometime in October, following tan official launch on August 30 at IFA in Berlin.

Philips (TPVision) promises a few improvements over its 2017 OLED TVs, first there is the claimed 1000 Nit peak light output, what the manufacturer claims is a ten percent increase in light output compared to last years models.  And better black reproduction though new anti-reflective coatings.

The second generation 'P5 Picture Perfect Processing Engine' incorporates the new “Perfect Natural Reality” contrast enhancing technology. Philips claims the algorithm "improves standard SDR images to the same quality as the most stunning HDR content".

The TV won Home Theatre TV 2018-2019 in the EISA Awards: “Home Theatre enthusiasts demand a genuinely cinematic experience that marries immersive visuals with dynamic sounds, and Philips’ 65 inch OLED flagship delivers. A new, exclusive partnership with hi-fi specialists Bowers & Wilkins results in a bespoke in-built soundbar….Overall the 65” OLED903 offers a class-leading performance, topped off by Ambilight –enhanced atmosphere, which gets the best from 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray and streamed sources”, EISA judges said. The Awards will be presented at the IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin on August 30.
