Acer announced its new PL and SL series laser-phosphor 5000 lumens projectors. The SL series will offer Ultra Short Throw range,the Pl series offering regular throw range projectors. The projectors will be available in both 1080P and WUXGA, combined with the two throw ranges this makes for four models the Acer PL6610 (WUXGA), PL6510 (1080p), SL6610 (WUXGA) and the SL6510 (1080p).
Acer says the projectors are designed for customers looking for a reliable, low maintenance projector solution, they are optimized for large venues and demanding commercial and educational applications. 'the PL and SL projectors' laser diodes have a lifespan of up to 30,000 hours'. So Acer promotes the projetcors'durability mercury free-ness, and that it turns on and off almost instantly.
The laser light source lets viewers enjoy outstanding color performance with 75% NTSC wide color gamut, creating vibrant visuals and delivering consistent color saturation, at a brightness of 5,000 lumens.
