Severtson Screens announced its new wider (up to 200-inch diagonal at 16:9 aspect ratio) Cinema White and Cinema Grey microperf projection materials. Ideal for larger home theater and commercial/pro AV installations, the new Made in the USA screen material is now available.
“Just as in the cinema market, microperf is quickly becoming a home theater, commercial and pro AV market industry standard as projection resolutions increase,” explained Toby Severtson, president and CEO of Severtson Corp. “It is becoming the screen of choice for high-end installations as our microperf viewing surfaces practically eliminates moiré which is often problematic of screens with larger perforation, yet continues to provide a more realistic soundstage allowing speakers to be placed directly behind the screen.”
Microperf offers multiple benefits versus standard perforation screens. It is the answer for current ultra high-performance cinema screens, depending on an install’s specific needs, and is the perfect solutions for higher projection resolutions as these technologies become available in the future.
“Microperf provides approximately seven percent open space against the traditional 4.5 percent open space,” Severtson added. “Severtson’s microperf is engineered for the optimum audio and visual experience available in the marketplace today.”
Severtson Screens’ Cinema White material is more than 30 percent brighter than Matte White. “It is a unique fabric that offers a bright, uniform image with no color shift at any viewing angle,” Severtson continued. “This surface is designed to provide a higher amount of brightness for lower output projector types. Its increased reflectivity will help enhance image brightness in situations where a low level of ambient light is present. Cinema White and Cinema Grey are washable with mild soap and water, flame retardant and mildew resistant.”
