  • IFA's New York City CE Week hosts 4K TV shoot-out today

    IFA the Berlin Germany based consumer electronics show hosts several events around the world to support the main fair in September, one of the larger events being this weeks'CE Week in New York city. Today June 12th, in an all day event from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm ESDT, it host the 15th Annual TV Shoot Out, sponsored by Value Electronics. In the shoot-out viewers get the chance to judge the latest and greatest TV sets and 'select the winner of ultra-high definition TVs'. Judges scores will also be used to mark winners in subcategories like best gaming TV,Best moviewatching,and so on.

    Sponsors and participating companies are LG, METRA, and Sony. LG OLED TVs have been the overall winners and best mvie watching tVs for several years in this shoot-out.

    A seperate shoot-out for 8K TVs is scheduled for September.

    CE Week 2019 packed more content into its two days programme. Today at 9:30 am there will be a Keynote Panel, discussing how 5G Will Alter the Retail Landscape featuring executives from Blackberry, Creative Strategies, Third Eye and Verizon.

    At 12:30 pm the stage is for some Powerful Women in CT who will explore the challenges they've faced coming up in their careers, offer advice to female colleagues, and discuss what this industry can do to improve in the areas of inclusion and equality.

    Tomorrow, June 13, 9:30 am it is time for the latest in video technology,on retail shelves after 15 years of development 8K. TV retailers and manufacturers from SHARP, LG Electronics, Sony, Samsung, and Value Electronics will discuss: 'What is, Means and How to Sell 8K'.

    The luch time panel will look forward to the holiday selling season predicting; 'The Black Friday Trends'. The panel will dive into the biggest trends of the season and educate the audience on what strategies are ready for prime time.

    Consumer technolgy will not only be discussed, but also shown in use in the Connected Design House, which will feature the latest technologies for the connected smart home experience in five rooms: kitchen, living room, bath, bedroom and home theater.

    The Sony A9g 65" OLED is the new King of TVs according to the display professionals judges in the 15th Annual Value Electronics TV Shoot-Out. It is closely followed by the LG C9 OLED, tying in many categories. The Sony ZD9 LCD TV won the single 'LCD category', while the Samsung Q90 4K QLED TV did not figure in the results announced at the CE Week today.
