One of the select few to be honored with a Technology & Engineering Emmy® Award for “HTML5 Development and Deployment of a Full TV Experience on Any Device”
Vewd, the former OperaTV, TV division on the Opera browser company, and self-proclaimed leading provider of OTT and hybrid TV solutions, has today announced that the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) has granted Vewd a Technology & Engineering Emmy® Award in the category of "HTML5 Development and Deployment of a Full TV Experience on Any Device," for its pioneering work on HTML5 for the presentation of online content on the TV screen.
The award recognizes companies, organizations and individuals for breakthroughs in technology that have had a significant effect on television engineering. Specifically, Vewd won this prestigious award for its work to develop highly scalable and breakthrough products based on web standards, that enable the mass deployment of OTT, Hybrid TV and full television experiences in homes worldwide. Over 300 Million connected TV devices from more than 50 customers across nearly 170 countries now benefit from Vewd products incorporating the innovation.
The award will be presented at the 71st Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy® Awards, which take place, in partnership with the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), at the NAB Show at the Wynn Encore Hotel and Spa on Sunday, April 19th, 2020 in Las Vegas, NV.
