NEC's German LED Wall partner told me at ISE that it had one request for quote for 1.2mm, but it turned out to be too expensive, so 1.5/6 was what they actually were selling

I believe that 1.29mm is older model, prior to German partnership, saw it at the LANG AG booth 3 or two years ago. Partnership was announced prior to ISE 2016.

So are they dropping below 1mm afterall?

As for Roku you can always stick a Roky box or stick to the TVs back. The Roku line, is to offer a selling point to budget TVs Peter. But they may do well to use that UI.

Roku tv is one of the few things that are well thought out in this mad mad mad Home Theater World that I am being forced now to shepherd into saneness.
the 55 inch roku tv has a very high native cr., 72 z fald in that regard it is phenomenal that is why it is good as a PC Monitor, for 599 why should anyone buy a z9 sony? The 85" is going to be phenomenal as well with 1200 zones.

I do not trust that an external roku box will look anywhere close to the TCL closed-loop finely-profiled to internal streaming image... that is a new subject of discussion, tv makers are making inroads in that regard...

The only thing i wish is that Kaleidescape would enable hdmi cec so that i could operate the whole system with the roku stick. I so detest touchscreens....

The picture may not be the best if u nitpick, but it puts 90% of projectors to shame, very similar image to the samsung tile system. COMPELLING AND CHEERFUL! I have lost 3 years of productivity by using OLED as a monitor, will wait for next gen and see in 2020. My CIOPH displays are 3 options, entry level roku tv tcl 85, samsung 21 or 36 tiles, and cledis at 1.3 m no questions asked (which I will tell the person purchasing to go the samsung route instead).

TCL Disruptive as hell, I relate very well with disruptive, it is what is needed now in the pathetic state of our beloved hobby. Out of Chaos shall come order....watch this space for that very manifestation.

Like Vizio before it. According to CNET Vizio does have models that offer deeper blacks and better motion than this TCL, but it performs well at competitive price: https://www.cnet.com/products/tcl-55p607/review/. Do you have the 607 or the Best Buy version 605, without the remote with head phone jack?

I am not sure, but don't think these are sold here.

Perhaps the other TVs from the XESS series do come with Roku, I don't know, but they are not marketed as Roku TVs.

i do not find vizio to be a compelling user experience, visual ok,meah but the ROKU grabs you.

iN ANY EVENT THE TCL 85" SYSTEM
8 dynaudio Contour 60 on bed
8 bespoke dynaudio 10" and Esotar on 17 degree slant on-wall on ceiling box
          1 trinnov altitude 16
          2 trinnov amplitude 8
          2 MEG Basis Cardioid subs

Tremendous immersive value for the buck. The entry level system from Hell that elevates a 3rd floor bottom of the building unit into glorious DOLBY-PH haute-realm.

But there is always trouble due to inertia with Dynaudio in getting bespoke speakers made.

I believe they will be convinced when they see the forecasted exponential growth behind the Miami Crane Watch. A Market where their top south florida Showroom Dealer Mr. Integration is completely Blackballed for ruining Ugo Colombo's 70 million dollar home's : the Carl Fischer Estate multiroom sound system.

The bigeest fuckup in the history of Multiiroom on record. I am sure Dynaudio was deceived about that pART, like he deceived good customers with his company aggrandization through smoke and mirrors UNDERHANDED JUST IN TIME FOR THE MEETING HIRED HELP tactics.

Hey we all have our Elephants In the Room in the Custom Installation Industry. The one that Immortalized me, most of you were there as my alibis ( 400 posted to that effect) that I had been promoting daily the new Store GROVE PLASMA that a distinguished but 12 years older lady open for me. My ex old lady was SCORNED that a Woman had invested such money, she fell off the wagon and voila.

In the early days of custom installation mostly are unscrupulous manufacturers throwing the Custom Installer under the bus is what was at fault. The difference is that I did a complete reassessment to PROACTIVELY DEALING WITH product reliability back in 1988 and since then have not had one dissatisfied customer, nor an installation that did not exceed expectations, or have ever received a legal letter from a customer. My clients are my best Advertisement, yes even for when i was doing theaters only in the 1.2 to 3.2 million range, THE MORE EXPENSIVE THE SYSTEM THE STRONGER THE REFERRAL.

Now if we do not use C-LED we believe we can create an experience from 30 years into the future today with the Super-S HDR walls and keep the pricing depending on 11' wide or 14' wide, with the most insane around your head Atmos with multidirectional concussive bass coming at you from everywhere in the bubble and keep those 2 systems within the 600-800k range. A TRUE modern marvel, the highest most epicurean achievement of mankind hood.

i COULD NOT BE MORE EXCITED, and contrary to Mr. I who got sued out of business by the most beloved and respected developer in the Industry THAT IS THE TREND SETTER IN THE HIGH END CONDO MARKET for  irresponsibly  failing to pre-test vaporware-malpractice and Malicious Complicit Misrepresentation, hiring a dozen part time workers to show up to Client meeting to aggrandize the size of his barebones operation to get his feet wet with the top projects in town. Borderline Chicago Imported Racketeering.

He is not wanted In the Miami condo , I have all the Major developers, architects and top interior designers welcoming me back with open arms to make Miami the Home Cinema Capital of the world again like i did in the early 1990's - WITH A GORGEOUS VIEW to boot, my lifelong goal all along.

And let's not forget California where the Prototype CINERAMAX IMMERSIVE OVERLOOK PENTHOUSE ( across from cedia 1 is giving the Bel Aire Circuit a long due educational enema (to purge out the complacency of a century in bad image and sound reproduction).

How I came back? I thank Red, Alexa, and Dolby for finally making a front end content package worthy of my lifelong system performance specifications for the ULTIMATE IN IMMERSIVE ARTS.
