Going Up to Silicon Core on Monday to see the camelia .98 10 bit , the lavender

After 6 months of Sherlock Holming I am in with Silicon Core the Bentley of led walls which has it's own proprietary image drivers, the camelia 16 foot wide using thre processor boxes is over  $650.k Not in the Budget for our project but we need to see the top option to make a decision.

We will see the three systems that will get packed and shipped to ISE so that we can compare afterwards. They even have a 1.5 3D.

From there Tuesday we go straight to samsung .80 at CES and on to Leyard. Then we fly to San Diego and make a final decision.

Indeed, SiliconCore has some great benefits -- such as Common Cathode architecture, making the drivers much more efficient, and with better pixel uniformity.  Besides them and Leyard, I assume you've looked at the Sony Cledis.  What do you think?  ...and what are your project requirements?

CLED is not yet available, it seems. It would be higher than the $650K mentioned above. So, the Samsung microled, and yes it is Micro LED not regular SMD LED, alternative at CES would be a gamechanger IF it gets out this year. Technology Demonstrator 85" 8K 10K nits LCD at Sony. Saw the first 10K nits monitor by Sim2 at  IBC 2016. LG 8K OLED. Samsung has new Quantum Dot filter technology that looks promising.

Peter will you also get to see the new COB Chip On Board LED display? With the LISA smooth surface, embedded LED, production technology?

It has been six months since it should have become commercially, but initially only in 1.9mm pitch, so we should at least a demonstrator, engineering sample, prototype in finer pitch at ISE.

BTW, DPI will also bring an 1.5mm 3D LED demo to ISE. It says it will also offer the 120 Hertz/3D in other pitches 1.26-2.53mm.

I doubt Samsung will bring The Wall to ISE, it did not bring the CES moving modules demo/technology to ISE 2016 either. Focussing on SMD LED 1.5-2.5mm instead, and LCD. Peter perhaps you can ask your Samsung contacts if Samsung will be showing its micro led here in Europe?

Peter, I told the 'it ain't 8K complainers', elsewhere, that were already hit by sticker shock that, it being modular, you could get 4 for the price of one CLED, and go 8K that way, lol.

Having all those videowalls in one room was quite an experience. The 120 hz 3d had amazing negative parallax, the camelia being driven by the 10 bit image driver had spectacular color volume. There is a per tile visible edge shown as a light line around the squares visible as in other techs. Perhaps more noticeable than the Samsung microled, but then again the microled had a contrast enhancing glass in front of it that help conceal the modules visibility.

Common Cathode has great cost nbenefits in power consumption but the prices to end user are significantly higher than the walll's.

Peter, it is extremely clear on the top picture of the curved display showing the cloudy sky. It even shows a brightness/color divide between the front and back half.I doubt the difference is due to viewing angle as those are fairly similar. When Silicon Core introduced its 1.5 at ISE, the executive told me indeed that's a million dollar TV. And We only sell trough integrators, dealers. I.e. no direct buy discount at the time.

Well since the wall is under 300 almost half of Camelia and samsung has taken the lead in dialing out the module visibility, they went from poor to superb in 2 months time with the outside the booth 2.4 panels which were nearly seamless on huge swaths of screen. On the led walls Samsung will eat some of SC's lunch  is the sad reality.  But i love what I saw at Silicon Core and are wonderful supercompetent people so i hope there is a power consumption sensitive market for them to flourish in but for a home TV there is no payback in power cost savings.

Do they still offer anti-moire coating? I spoke to Stewart a year ago that showed a Siliconcore led module behind an anti-moiré screen by Stewart. I asked why the collaboration, as Siliconcore was the first to offer/promote its anti-moiré coated LED displays. Anti-Moiré is important in TV studio's/sets.

There is no benefit in RGB control, and associated color control, and contrast control? So the control of near black and the dynamic range above that in common cathode? How was the LISA COB?

In the previous ISE demo's the gridpattern was not this visible. Of course there was plenty of ambient light and a bright LED display.
