  • Deepsky MicroLED

There seems to always one or two interesting items one misses at major tradeshows like ISE. I won't say completely overlooked at it vaguely rings a bell, seeing it and its poor uniformity in the little squares, that show through so clearly in the video from ISE below.

I just received an email from this Hong Kong company thanking me for speaking with them at Infocomm, a show I did not attend;-).

Can anyone report from Infocomm on this Deepsky COB display?

So, I started to look into it and wondered is it even micro-led or just plain old rgb, just cob? Or are the pitches, just that pitch equivalent, with smaller leds.

The website continues to refer to micro-leds, but the technology is simply Chip On Board, as I read the website. No mention of the actual rgb led (package) size, or the indivual subpixels, as it says Deepsky can do other packages than RGB, and it does in one series, Delta-enhanced RGB whatever that may be? But are the LEDs sub 100 micron? The Sony ones are truly micro in the 2-5 micron range.

3000 nits, so twice the brightness of Samsung The Wall, with HDR peaks of 6000 nits Deepsky claims: https://www.deepskycorp.com/products/. At ISE it was shipping, so earlier as well. But the encapsulating surface was less flat and uniform, though Samsung did not let us see from up close. And Sony has seen great units and lesser demonstration units
