Final Instructions to complete acoustical treatment...

Peter and I spent some quality time today and we determined the next and final steps in the acoustic treatment for the room. Below are my notes, but I will need to walk you through for clarity.




I'm very excited for what Peter has envisioned and to make it happen. Let me know when you're available to discuss, preferably in person. My hope is that we can get this all done before Peter comes out in late August. Optimal is if we could schedule the fabric covering for the same week. That way, Peter can tweak it before (if need be) and appreciate the final product.




Heads up, we may need some more Versatune for a few locations. Hopefully we can find some!

  • Cavity 1
    • Replace 3 Elite diffusers with Jaya, but keep the Versatune sublayer.
    • Move existing absorbers & diffusers down by ~9.5"
    • Use the leftover Jaya from Row 2 to fill in the top
  • Cavity 2 & 4
    • Move the Elite diffuser 6" towards the inside
    • Add 6" Versatune strip on the right to fill in the gap where the Elite diffusers used to be
  • Cavity 3
    • Replace center Elite diffuser with Jaya
    • Move existing absorbers & diffusers down by ~9.5"
    • Use the leftover Jaya from Row 2 to fill in the top
  • Cavity 4
    • Add Versatune behind Cardioid. Double layer if possible
  • 
• Whaler
  • Install the 4 recovered Elite diffusers in the 4 untreated areas (2 in the back, 2 in the front)
  • Install 10 Bow S diffusers in a X pattern mounted on top of the current Versatune treatment in the back of the Whaler
  • Remove the 2 raised section of the Elite diffusers in Row 3 and replace them with Bow S absorbers. Add 1 more absorber in the middle to form an X pattern.
  • Install a full Jaya between the 2 top speakers in Row 2 (will have to remove a vertical support)
  • Install 2 Jayas cut down to 3/5 of their original size on the outside of the speakers in Row 2
  • Install 2 Jayas next to the speakers in Row 1
  • Leave a small gap between Jaya and speaker to avoid vibrations from being transferred.
