It still amazes me that expensive equipment like this is shipped in a box, not crated. Regular Cardboard stops almost nothing, might aswell be just strapped to a palet when it comes to protection from impact.

Waiting for the installation pictures, so you can say: 'Love it when a plan comes together', and light a fat one.

The installation is three weeks out as the client's construction crew is busy finishing the Flatiron Skyscraper.

Here is the masterpiece projector platform.

          room for hanging threaded rod.

Soke to Barco at showeast, a more aggressive lens aperture WILL NOT INCREASE SPECKLE as long as uniformity is kept under control, the old color analyzers being used in America and In Germany are not accurate enough for the series 4 narrow wavelength. A cr-300's 2nm is ideal but a 4nm accurate unit will make do (cr-250), I am going to try borrow a  300 from Guillermo the owner, the problem is THIS PROJECT IS DELAYED as fuck not by me but that due to the construction crew is slammed finishing the brickell flatiron, so I am circling on standby.

To make matters worse the owner will not pay the change order that was presented for the extra work on the shop drawings. He did tel me in the nicest email.

"Peter, you install the projector than we can talk about money - and there are no change orders, I don’t care what you buy or don’t buy.
I believe that what you’ll end up doing will be great, that’s why I hired you to do the job, so no need to beat your drum (it will not get you extra money) – if you want to get paid, finish the job"

This is the guy that is delaying the work by not making the construction crew available.

Series or model, Peter? I see the other vendor anouncing a lot of deployments for the internal lasers 2K DCi projectors.

One could always check to see if that UK CR-300 is in Florida, LOL.

Leave the John Williams adventure tracks playlist playing all of next week. Or play Mission Impossible too.LOL

Say Goodbye to the ol 1500 and say hello to the SP4k15.

Thanks to BARCO's amazing engineering skills the front and back panels covering the intake light engine filter, and the dual chiller filters in the back, slide sideways so am hoping we can have room front and back to change the filters without having to rotate the projector. DP1500 is out, we cut out 5 inches from both front and rear walls, not as much as expected. Let's see tomorrow.

On last picture you can see Picasso Lithograph inside elevator.

Promptly after the completion of the highly acclaimed Brickell Flatiron skyscraper condominium In Miami veteran developer Ugo Colombo commissioned an upgrade to his famous state of the art private cinema with a first of it’s kind worldwide Barco Series 4 compact RGB Laser projector. This best-engineered projector was further customized for BETTER THAN REALITY image quality by the top performance cinema developer CINERAMAX.
Peter CINERAMAX Montoulieu explains the Mission Impossible nature of this retrofit project.

In selecting the projector we had to find a unit not much bigger than the 36in long Barco DP 1500 that served that Cinema for the last 10 years, after attending the CINEMACON cinema convention in April CINERAMAX found a unit 40 in Long.  3 primary laser projectors display 99.7% of the colors available in rec 2020 colorspace. No other projectors or flatscreens can do that.

While this type of color performance is something amazing to experience 3P laser typically shows desaturated flesh tones and can occasionally exhibit an artifact called laser speckle.

This cinema features a concave vacuum screen that enhances resolution by redirecting the light from the projector only to the seats of the audience and keeping any light away from the sidewalls (which robs contrast and color saturation).
Because laser speckling is an interference pattern between our eyes and a flat projection screen, due to the very narrow wavelengths typical in 3P Laser there was a small risk that Mr. Colombo a known eagle-eye would detect such artifacting.
Concerned about possible laser speckle CINERAMAX embarked on a three months research effort into laser speckle countermeasures.

After going through all the scenarios, tracing and analyzing the screen’s original gain formula, working with BARCO, CINERAMAX felt that the risk-reward was well worth it in order to achieve BETTER THAN REALITY results. He surmised correctly that the concave screen shape, in theory, provided no fixed distance from the screen plane to the eyes, but a constantly varying curve that would provide little opportunity for the interference pattern to rear its head. His analysis based on the shape of the compound curve screen was a small gamble that paid off. The result is the most speckle free 3p laser image in the world and being able to reap all the benefits of the image enhancement effects of the concave screen resulting in one of the best three projected Home Cinema images in the world. There are  183,000 digital movie theaters worldwide, the image here is far superior to all but 500 of the most advanced flagship venues costing a million each.

To complicate the mission matters CINERAMAX had been working based on the original shop drawing dimensions for the construction 10 years ago that showed an available space of 47 in for the projector. But that was unfinished space after the green light to proceed was given to commission the new projector and engineering team went to the Jobsite site to plan the installation there was so much mechanical and electrical installed around the projector that the available space was 41 in and no space to turn.  “Working closely with Colombo’s construction team we were able to carve a space but not until the projector was already up in the rafters were we able to know for sure if it would turn into position, it was a close call,” says CINERAMAX.

So no laser speckle, the projector fit and the end result is an image much better than the highly touted Samsung the Wall ( a half a million-dollar wall screen). Another mission impossible accomplished with results exceeding all expectations this time by a factor of 300 due to the high-risk potential of visible speckle that was thwarted. It must be seen to believed. At a fraction of the cost of a Sony C-Led three-quarter of a million-dollar wall-screen, this projected image is only bested by the glorious Sony monster display.
