THE PICS THAT CRASHED THE THREAD LAST WEEK. COPY LATER

ABOUT 27% OF ALL THE AMPLIFIERS BEING RACKED SHOWN. OVERKILL? BUT OF COURSE!
    <\q>

Only if it can do 125 dB on less, LOL. Go big or go home right, Peter.

BTW, can Roger Quested, remember and pronounce your name;-)*

So a week ago my client informed me that the multiroom contractor that prewired the room had stated that my quad 12 speaker cable from Straightwire was too fat to fit the speakons. Not what I wanted to hear so I had to double check the connector part numbers.

Just to show you what top level customer service is I need to give Kudos to my friend the owner of Straightwire, Steven Hill which took all measurements and reported this but also had Spence the operations manager make us a sample termination piece.

This is some of the best customer service I have experienced in 35 years.

        Dear Peter el al:

The opening on back of both is .41”, Super Quad is .375” OD

Super Quad is stranded 12 awg (41 strand) – once stripped, conductors  must be twisted tightly

The strip length is approx. .5”

NL4FCThe NL4FC – jacket is stripped back 1.5” and insulation offconductors .5” – leaving 1” of jacket inside the plugBe sure to use red and white to pos:  black and gray to negAs you tighten the back of the plug – it will snug onto the inch of cable jacket
NL2FX – SPLITTING to 2 channelsStrip the jacket back 11 “ and remove thin fillers to baseStrip inner insulation off conductors approx. .5” as in 4 pos plug.Twist red / black as channel 1 and white/ gray as channel 2 approx every 2”Secure base of cable with 1” heat shrink – your color choice to mark channelWe use a small piece of clear shrink (can use tape) just behind the stripped ends so the twist is maintained in usageThe inner insulation is strong polypropylene – no need to cover with PET mesh or heatshrink – unless desired for cosmetic appearance
IT FITS LIKE A GLOVE!!! The client gave it 2 thumbs up.

Another bump on the road for the C-LED Installation. The Caustic underwater pattern parquet flooring from Italy missed the steamboat.... C-Led installation pushed out another month  Also Volfgoni 3D was acquired by a Chinese company and the delivery of the active hub rf and rf edge glasses also got delayed till early October. That back area of the room shows the caustic design parquet flooring that is now a holdup.

In the meantime The 7 circular diffuser-speaker columns are ready to be delivered on Monday and because the parquet flooring comes in from the sides to meet the column plywood support, the columns will be installed and populated with all speakers, so that should be fun.

Considering all the 3D litigation over the years, it makes sense that the only alternative providers still interested would be the Chinese.

But there are non cinema markets for 3D. At CES Nvidia had announced a deal with Volfoni to resurrect their 3D vision functionality that has stopped working. Someone from Volfoni came clean with me on the new owners first actions, not an utopian scenario.

Strange I no longer receive email notifications on replies. I noticed it last week, so I turned it off and then on again for this topic, but still no email from dci-forum.com. Hence the late reply.

Of course 3D has become largely a themepark ride feature.

Clear diffusion with a radial pattern of 180 degree diffuser technology called ModViewser, not to be confused with Quadratic diffuser which diffuses in an open hand fingers star pattern.

                      • If you are wondering what the acoustical material that fills those white inlay sections of all the doors...It is a specially tint matched version of the 3rd picture's corner traps. These interiors are as subtle as those in the new G700 aircraft, plus the seats are microprocessor controlled with more smarts than those of the G-700 which are best in class.

                              • Since the surround processor has 48 channels the spreadsheets alone are not sufficient to convey the spatial interrelationships to configure the specific formats channel mappings. I put together these visual aides for Trinnov to configure the unit and load next week.

Each speaker has been painstakingly positioned in BIM to half a degree to recreate as best psychoacoustically possible the soundfield 1st experienced in the Gravity ATMOS premiere @ Dolby Burbank but without their claw scratching the blackboard harsh cinema JBL speakers.

It is optimized for one single seat for extreme personal space invasion by the sound objects, around your head instead of panning the walls, a different approach is used for the NEURAL-X PRO upmixing sound bubble that sinks 9 degrees into the front of the room. THUS INCREASING THE VERTICAL POSITIONING RANGE for the superb Neural-X Pro spatial renderer.
