I slept 2 hours the night before installing the lumagen reading the book, and 1.5 hours the night before testing different settings for installing the Kaleidescape, it is tricky with edid and stuff.


View from operator porthole, there is another service porthole for performing convergence adjustments and swapping laser modules.

we have only started the installtion, in a few weeks Alan will do a more agressive lens mod, we are running at 75 laser power, i thinl I prefer the lumagen tone mapping set to off the image is super crispy that way, but we will program 4 lumagen presets.


For a compact projector this is the best image I have ever seen.

For those seeking an acoustically transparent screen there is one NANO PERFORATED alternative that behaves exactly as the Torus screen, the RealD Ultimate screen, we are planning three cinemas now with the ULTIMATE SCREEN.


I will not get caught dead using any other screen than a Torus or an Ultimate screen, i find it ridiculous to spend so much money on a quality LASER superprojector and throw the image on the visual absorbency and diffusivity equivalent of a bale of freshly picked cotton, trust me that am intimately familiar with every screen optical or diffusive.

Another crazy day, wait for pics, we had to do a red on green major convergence, without opening the top as required, all good, latest lumagen software was a good improvement than 2 monhs ago, still learning by tweaking, Jim helps a lot.


Extracted the source code from old AMX and Lutron control brick panel to create new crestron screen for ipad.

The Lumagen had died to complicate manners worse but got a replacement unit.


The rack terminations have been greatly simplified by sourcing all hdmi into the Lumagen and having one output feeding audio to the Datasat Rs20i.


The lens modification was super complicated, a few days of worrying if the lens had been put together correctly , Alan installed a new stadium shape aperture that is providing an incredible contrast enhancement.


This projector is truly outstanding, a youtube presentation about a study Barco Made about how much too much HDR is too much hints that Barco is planning some kind of active laser dimming. Ignace also mentioned they can do.


If this laser dimming is possible THIS PROJECTOR could be a formidable contender. I recommend to us the 12, the 15 is too much light even after this Very aggressive IRIS. Walking by sideways past the beam 7 feet in front of the beam, did mess my left eye for a few hours.

The very stressful lens modification, All is great That ends Great, but what a vexing 3 days waiting to test the lens mod.


Do not alarm by the setting of the operation, that is the cleanest floor one could eat from.
