Excessive Specular Highlights on Image toned down according to client preference. 2,000 nit HDR cinemas projection or videowall are not a practical thing at all.

Went from Lumagen FW 100619 to FW 122819. While the clarity improved, the previous ability to use the arrows to access gamma and black level where eliminated.
This may be a problem, spent 7 hours setting up and evaluating image, my eyes are too tired. I previously used the gamma and black level to tame down the image blackness. The client dislikes HDR so trying to tone it down, it was good on previous FW just not as clear as latest that appears to be optimized for low lumen projectors.

Last night the client got back home from the Holidays and after I walked him through how to operate the system, BEFORE Crestron implementation later this week, he said it looked great, later he thanked me via text.
Today I blew my own horn on an email to him:
Prometheus specific procedures that make this Installation best in the USA.
The most aggressive Lens Aperture possible (vertical stadium shaped) without uniformity issues (of which there were huge chances), 4 days worrying if it would work. You set the world cr. record on this PJ.
200 Man hours achieving the mastery of the Lumagen F-stop optimization.FW updates, a unit dies, more FW updates, the latest one completely changes most functionality. But it is now superb.
Studied 4 Barco Manuals that have been slowly trickling in from Barco. Now reviewing the updated Manuals, which have changed. Working on 3D next.
It is incompetent to calibrate an HDR rig with just a few DVD’s, by using THE Kaleidescape SCRIPTS of reference clips across many movies known for pushing some unique image threshold, presets of high consistency perfection across all content.
We were right about the center channel, original that was a $6,250 2004 design, CONFIDENCE CENTER IN 2014 NO MORE PARTS. In 2012 the new model became CONFIDENCE CENTER PLATINUM, $9,500. The original model has silver bezel around drivers, Platinum has black bezels. Parts were 2,300, it sounds way better than original and will get better after break-in.
Regardless of what any expert viewer says THERE IS NO SCREEN that improves the image in a better most faithful way than a TORUS, I look forward to seeing how close the Ultimate Screen gets to it.
Once you have done the lens cr. mods scenes with low adl sub 20 no longer look like crap, and the vast majority of recent kaleidescape show excellent contrast, the screen completely minimizes low adl portions of the image from Jumping at you like on woven screens.
Right now, with the latest improvements on the lumagen that I figured out last Saturday this is truly the best image, of any of my systems to date AND of all the demos I have participated since the intro of the Thor in 2015, and the Thor HC that I did a special demo for Uwe Weidemann. Yes the Torus brings out every drop of image quality greatness.https://twitter.com/CINERAMAX

https://WALLSCREEN-SKYLOUNGES.COM

the email added:
I know you love the sound, it's not only the center channel clarity but all channels appear to be better timed.
Only on Datasat You take the farthest speakers from the listener (the Left and Right) and deduct the distance of every other speaker individually tol arrive to an exact delay value..
I do this to 2" accuracy.

I posted this on the eclipse page:
One should take great care of not overexposing to the potent light these projectors send out of the porthole. It is better to use an optical screen like the reald and get the gain at the screen where it is harmless and get all the extra sharpness, and color saturation benefits that a screen that redirects light to the audience manifests.Even with throwing out a lot of light with contrast mods to the lens, the 15 k lumen is way too bright, i ordered a schneider projection panavision aspect 45ND filter, 64% light drop 1.5 stops. Will report. The idea is keep the light coming out of the porthole at semi-benign levels, and get a beautiful sharp and high mtf HDR Image through the best engineered screen. Trust me I get zapped by that light almost daily, TOO STRONG. So 9,000 lumen should be more than enough in an expertly laid out visual environment. The nanoperf ultimate screen acts like the torus, i have compared the torus with the barco, and 11 scope v6 with 6p and the DUO Plus at Brads with 13.5 wide 1.77.All within 24 hours Because of the larger size and consumer level projector SIM2+v6 is a good match so was the thorhc at cinemacon when we tested the v6 (perfect for the thor6p top level balanced saturation, the small sdr rgb laser christie was not a good match at cinemacon 16 for the v6.
Due to the addition of the Schneider PND I am allowed to add an additional boosted light setting to show off in Punchy Image Mode.
Out of all the material wonders the clienty has in Yachts, Planes, Homes, Buildings and luxury car dealerships i told the client the only thing I envy him is that interactive kaleidescape control screen.https://twitter.com/CINERAMAX

https://WALLSCREEN-SKYLOUNGES.COM

The client said: STUNNING.
Nothing says CINEMA DLP Shitty Blacks than when the projector is idle with no signal , it shows the true Cr.
Thusfar we started with:
!) Torus screen that minimizes kickback reflections. It is a Studiotek 130 skin.
2)We also modded the lens to a point it appears double the contrast with no hotspotting visible on the whitefield test pattern.
3)The Latest DTM of the Lumagen has ways of simulating HDR very well.
4) The PND filter from Schneider that was supposed to take out 64% of the light turned out that all we lost was 10 on Laser intensity, it is now at 40.
Do note that the existing bespoke Kelmar Porthole has a glass of 3/8, very thick specified for the 60 db DP-1500 now retired from service by Barco.
The Series 4 is the quietest DLP projector I have played with, The techs from AHT GLOBAL say it is quieter than the Loki, that they install on yachts.
So now we will remove the porthole glass and replace it with an anodized black aluminum plat the size of the previous glass with a CNC'D Panavision Camera ND filter holder sound insulated with a gasket, hinged frame with quick release bolts to change the panavision sized ND filters, so optically we should get tremendous mtf as the only glass is the very thin filter, we are doubling down to throw away double the schneider's light with an ARRI full spectrum.
Because this is a camera lens (same principle light in light out) and it is going to absorb a lot of heat on the side of the filter we will place a fan shooting directly into the filter for cooling.
We already have the world record idle screen no signal low brightness, when we implement the filter, it is going to be EXTREMELY DARK, for all the improvements we enumerated above.
We have been given the green light to fabricate this FRANKEN-INTERCHANGEABLE filter-porthole. Exciting!!
A picture of the tilted porthole with the filter all masked by photographic black tape. Quite a revelation.
