It is nice to see what super good picture quality we can have at home with a good projector and a perfect produced UHD 4k Disc.
Sad just some very few 4K disc show it!
But even the very best UHD can not match the picture quality that some special made 3D pictures or in this case a
macro 4K 3D time laps have.
See the incredible details in this picture when you watch the 4k version.
Mr. Pescke did a super good job with this material he share with me.
One of the secret why some of his 4k 3d time laps looks so incredible is that he not use a film camera he use a still picture camera with a full frame sensor and shot single pictures left and right with only one camera.
A film camera need to shot 24 or 30 or 60 frames per secound will be never as good as a still picture camera that had 3 or more sec. time to write the data to the chip FOR JUST ONE SINGLE PICTURE.
At 60 p a film camera just had 0,0166 sec. time to write a single frame to the chip and even at the low 24p it is only 0,04166 sec. time for it.
So depends on the frame rate a still picture camera had between 72 times and 180 time more time to write a single frame to the chip.
No wonder that a video camera never match the picture quality a still camera have.
Tests show that this is not the case even some manufacturer claims it.

Wolfgang - All the best for 2019 to you , your Family and all the User at DCI Forum.
You mentioned you ask me something, I find only a question for contrast change with the V6 fabric.
I got my self a light meter now, but I'm not really sure how I get correct Numbers of Ft...so I'm not a help.
I only read here most times, because unfortunately I will not have the potential to play in that league.
That is the reason , why I ask Oliver Early 2017 for a Lumagen Pro with Tone Mapping Calibration, keep my lovely used Demo unit VW 1100 .
In Conclusion with a Isco 1.25 and the shortest trow, I still get poor mans HDR/2020 of my 0,82 Gain V6 ultra deeply curved 148" wide screen.
I know I'm far away from getting big advantage from HDR but most I like the "cinema" look I have to live with
Best Regards

Thanks Dirk same to you.
Let me tell you the Sony VW1100 is a nice projector.
I own one for many years.
The optic is super good and the iris works very nice in adaptive.
Light output was also top and the filter that almost hit DCI color is also nice even you lose some light.
Bad is the cr. drop but the adaptive iris cover this a lot!
So your setup with the Sony VW1100 and the Isco 1.25 anamorphic lens in combination with the Lumagen and your V6 scree is not a pure men setup it is a nice setup that should give you a wonderful picture quality.
Consider what you pay for this setup and what nice picture you get.
I bet you spend your money in an optimal way.
I also like to see a picture of your setup.

Ok poor man HDR.... understand.
Thanks for sharing the pictures.
Nice screen!
Do you not have any problem with focus as the screen is strong curved?
When my Barco get the new lens with the fix iris inside to gain cr. I was shocked how much the picture was focused when I put a paper about 60cm in front of my screen.
There is not any sharpness decrease visible as this iris act like a you going with a picture camera lens from F2.8 to F8.
This will enlarge the field deep off a lot same in this projection lenses.
So I think the curve don’t hurt your sharpness performance in your setup or?
I have in my holiday house a 137” wide screen and think about to try there in future also a curved screen also with the V6 screen material.

thank you Wolfgang,
No I was surprised by my self then I gain the curve by changing the fabric from Seymore XL to V6, that I have no problems with the general sharpness, or different sharp areas in the screen.
I think the very short throw distance 4m to a 3,76m wide image is positive fact for that.
The position of the vw 1100 is nearly middle of screen, because I will reduce and minimalist the difference of picture between the center and down corners left/right, wich is 3" now.
I waiting for a long time for the upcoming 2160p Geobox Warping in my chain, to calibrate the exact bow, now they Company in Thaiwan hope to get in 2019 Quarter 2!
I will keep you updated for you 137" curved screen Wolfgang.
@Mr Pixel Alan ?
Based by the construction of Nils Ă–llerer , I mentioned earlier in this thread, the screen is not totally going from Bottom to the top...Picture start 4,5" from the celling and ended 12-13" to the floor.
I know the curve is a little sick, but I really like the old Cinemascope Classics and since I saw Cinerama LIVE at the BFI Bradford I will have "Something" like that home

Just received an answer from Geobox Taiwan:
We are sorry that we had postponed the schedule for 4k warping box due to marketing priority concern. We put edge blending processors with 4k/60 input and 2048*1080 output and video wall controller with 4k/60 input / output as our priority and the development of 4k warping box will be in the second half of this year. This processor will have both warping and edge blending function (two models: one channel and two channels). The MP time will be in Q4 this year. Sorry for the delay.

Dirk
my experience with this company is not so good.
I ask them many years ago if there box can split the "Framepacking Interlaced 3D Signal 1920x1080I " that was coming from a Sony Video 3D Cam and they say no but there new unit was planned with this feature.
Then I wait 1 year to hear oh maybe next unit will support it.
But the trues was even 1 year later they don’t have it so I give up on it.
Last I hear was that they never comes with this feature!
So you can be a bit skeptical about their promise!
